Chapter 94: All the Evidences Led to Us ⚠️

Start from the beginning

The way he always was when everything came down to one final moment.

“You should feel like a man who’s about to win,” he said.

Tae let out a breath of a laugh.

“It doesn’t feel real yet.”

Jin oppa gave a small smile. “It will.”

Then—
The doors opened.

“All rise.”

The jury had returned.

As we stood, I caught myself glancing toward the back of the room. And just like yesterday—there he was.

Jungkook.

Still hidden in the shadows, unseen by the others, his eyes locked on us. On him.

And when my gaze found his, he smiled softly. Quietly. Proudly.

He didn’t need to come forward.
His presence alone was a promise.
He had seen this through with us, even from the distance he felt he had to keep.

And I felt it. That same pull, that same connection. Still there. Still real.

The judge entered, gavel in hand.

“We will now hear the jury’s verdict.”

My heart hammered against my ribs.
Taehyung’s fingers tightened around mine.

The jury foreperson, an older woman with sharp eyes and a steady voice, stood with a sheet of paper in her hands.

She took a breath.

“In the case of Kim Taehyung vs. Choi Seungmin and Choi Minah, we, the jury, find the defendants—”

The pause was endless.

“—guilty on all charges.”

Gasps.
And then chaos.
The room erupted.

Reporters scrambled for their equipment, people murmured and cried out.

The defense attorney buried his face in his hands.

But I couldn’t hear any of it.

All I could hear was the sound of Tae’s breath hitching—like something inside him had just broken free.

Yoongi pressed a kiss to his temple, whispering, “You did it. You did it, baby.”

Namjoon’s hand tightened against Tae’s back. “We’re here. It’s done.”

I leaned in and wrapped my arms around Tae from the side, my tears slipping silently down my cheeks.

“You’re free, bear cub. You’re free.”

Jin oppa exhaled softly, and though he stood tall, his jaw clenched like he was holding back more than he wanted to admit.

But his eyes—they didn’t leave Tae.
Not once.

From the back of the courtroom, I caught Jungkook's gaze.

He offered a small, encouraging smile, the same as he had the day before, a silent promise that he was with us every step of the way.

The judge’s gavel brought the room back to order.

“We will now proceed with sentencing.”

Tae inhaled deeply, finally letting himself sit a little straighter. Not out of obligation—but pride.

The judge’s voice was crisp and merciless.

“For the crimes of child abuse, aggravated assault, torture, unlawful imprisonment, financial fraud, coercion, and attempted murder, this court sentences Choi Seungmin to life in prison without the possibility of parole.”
