Chapter 94: All the Evidences Led to Us ⚠️

Start from the beginning

“No way,” he whispered, his voice breaking.
His hand trembled violently in mine.

“Tae,” I breathed, leaning closer. “Who—?”

But the words never reached him.

Because the man walking to the stand…
Was Hyunwoo.

Taehyung’s cousin.
The boy who left and never came back.

Until now.

The weight in the room was unbearable.

Joon’s hand found my back, grounding me like he always did. Yoongi’s fingers grazed Tae’s shoulder in silent solidarity.

Oppa’s gaze never wavered as Hyunwoo took the stand, but I could feel it—his heart pounding just as hard as ours.

Hyunwoo was sworn in.
His hands trembled.
His face was pale.

But his eyes…
They found Taehyung immediately.
And they were already full of tears.

Jin oppa stepped forward, his voice calm but resolute, full of quiet power.

“Mr. Choi Hyunwoo, why are you here today?”

A deep breath. A slow, shaking exhale.

“Because this is the least I can do.”

Tae flinched.

Hyunwoo turned to the jury.
His throat bobbed with the effort of holding himself together.

“My parents are monsters,” he said.

“And I should have said it sooner.”

The silence that followed was sharp as glass.

Mrs. Choi whimpered.
Mr. Choi’s jaw clenched like he could crush stone between his teeth.

But Hyunwoo didn’t falter.

He turned to Tae again, his voice cracking with the weight of a thousand unspoken truths.

“I should’ve done something. I should’ve stopped them. But I didn’t. I saw the bruises. I heard the screams. I was a coward. And I left.”

I felt Tae’s pain surge through my palm.

Yoongi had gone still beside us, his expression unreadable—but I knew that stillness. I knew what it meant.

He was holding back a storm.

Hyunwoo’s voice broke. “I left you behind.”

Tears streamed silently down Tae’s cheeks.

“I looked for you after,” Hyunwoo said.

“I followed the news. I wanted to believe you’d escaped. That you were free. But I never reached out. I didn’t think I had the right.”

His whole frame trembled.

“They called me. Tried to buy my silence. Told me to come back, take their side, take the money. Taehyung's money.”

Jin oppa’s eyes narrowed.

“And what did you say?”

Hyunwoo laughed bitterly.

“I told them I’d rather die than take a cent of what they stole from him.”

The room erupted.

But I didn’t care about the noise. I couldn’t look away from Tae.

He was watching Hyunwoo like he was seeing a memory he never dared to hope would come back.

Jin oppa waited for the room to settle before asking, “Why now, Hyunwoo?”
