Chapter 93: The Stand & the Shadow ⚠️

Start from the beginning

Then came the forensic experts.

Dr. Kwon stepped forward, solemn.

"The thumbprint used to 'sign' debt contracts was taken while Taehyung was unconscious. That means-legally-none of those debts are valid."

The courtroom rippled with outrage.

Yoongi leaned forward, whispering something into Tae's ear. I saw the corner of his mouth twitch upward, just slightly.

Namjoon stood long enough to pass a tissue into Oppa's hand-Jin oppa took it and passed it straight to Tae, without breaking pace.

The final blow came with the financial records.

Mr. Oh cleared his throat.

"Over fifteen million dollars were stolen from Taehyung's trust."

The number hit the air like thunder.
I felt my own breath leave my lungs.

Tae didn't cry this time.
He just stared forward.

Strong.
Fierce.
Steady.

Yoongi closed his eyes for a moment, trying to pull himself together. Namjoon's hand stayed on Taehyung's back.

Jin oppa's voice was calm but furious.

"This wasn't just negligence. It was destruction. And Taehyung survived it."

He turned back to the jury.

"But he didn't just survive. He stood up. He spoke out. And now, he is free."

And as that last expert stepped down, the air changed.

The truth had done its work.

Mr. Choi didn't just look defeated-he looked undone.

Taehyung exhaled.

And for the first time, he wasn't carrying the weight of it alone.

He was held-by me, by Yoongi, by Namjoon, and by Jin.

By a love that had never let him go.

Jungkook's POV

The courtroom doors creaked open as the judge called for a short recess, a fifteen-minute breath between the battle of truths.

People began to spill out into the hallway, voices hushed and eyes wide, trying to make sense of everything they had just heard.

But Hobi hyung and I stayed behind, standing at the very back where we'd been the entire time-hidden in shadows, hearts pounding in rhythm with every word spoken by Taehyung hyung on the stand.

I glanced sideways at hyung, who was still staring at the empty witness chair.

His hands were folded across his chest, jaw tight, lips parted slightly like he wanted to speak but couldn't quite find the words.

"He's brave," he finally said, voice quiet but resolute. "So fucking brave."

I followed his gaze, imagining Taehyung hyung's trembling hands, his eyes that burned with hurt and defiance, the truth he'd carved out of pain.

"They all are," he added after a breath.

"Jin... Namjoon... Y/N... Yoongi. I've never even talked to them, meet them, touched them, but-"

he touched a hand to his chest, just above his heart,

"-I feel it. I feel all of them. Like they're already written into me somehow. And Taehyung..."
