He turns to Namjoon with a pointed look.
"You're insane."
Namjoon chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck. "I know."
Tae clutches at his heart.
"If someone did that for me, I'd-" His voice cracks.
"I'd be gone. I'd just marry them immediately."
Yoongi hums, tilting his head. "Noted."
Taehyung stills. Blinks.
Then slowly turns to Yoongi.
Yoongi meets his gaze, unreadable. Then he reaches out, fingers curling around the sleeve of Tae's sweater.
Taehyung sucks in a sharp breath.
I watch as Yoongi tugs him closer, just a little. His voice is quiet when he speaks.
"You'd really marry someone who waited for you that long?"
Tae stares at him, breath hitching.
"Hyung..."
Yoongi doesn't look away. Doesn't smirk or tease or brush it off. Instead, his thumb rubs over the fabric of Taehyung's sleeve, and something heavy settles between them.
Namjoon lets out a soft chuckle, breaking the moment. "Well, I wouldn't go that far."
Jin oppa raises an eyebrow. "No?"
Namjoon shrugs.
"It was never about waiting. It was just... you."
Jin oppa doesn't hesitate.
He kisses him again.
And as I watch them, warmth blooming in my chest, I pull Tae closer, tucking myself against his side.
"I love you all," I whisper.
Just as the warmth of the moment settles over us like a thick, comforting blanket, a small, excited bark cuts through the air.
All our heads turn in unison.
Yeontan is bouncing in circles around Wacha, his tiny paws tapping against the wooden floor in eager anticipation.
In contrast, Wacha remains perched beside a neatly wrapped package, looking wholly unimpressed. Her tail flicks once-slow, deliberate-the universal sign of feline boredom.
Tae gasps, clutching his chest. "Oh my god. It's time."
I clap my hands together, excitement bubbling up. "Pet gift exchange!"
I hear someone exhale. Hard.
"This was planned?" Oppa asks, his voice caught somewhere between amusement and exasperation.
"Of course," Tae scoffs, scooping up a small wrapped package. "They're part of the family too."
Joon hums, arms crossed.
"Are we sure Wacha agreed to this?"
Yoongi snorts, not even trying to hide his smirk.
"When does Wacha ever agree to anything?"
I giggle, reaching for my cat and pulling her into my arms. Wacha tolerates it, barely, though her tail flicks in that way that tells me she secretly enjoys the attention.
"Shh, don't be mean. She's very generous. Right, baby?"
Wacha stares at me.
Then, very slowly-painfully so-she extends one paw and boops the small package in front of Yeontan.
