Chapter 77: Everything and Nothing

Start from the beginning

"I was not-"

Dara waved me off. "Oh my God, you guys are down bad."

From somewhere inside the law firm, a familiar voice echoed from beyond the glass doors.

I turned my head-And there he was.

stepping into the lobby, dressed in another sleek three-piece suit, looking so effortlessly put-together that it pissed me off

And the worst part?
The worst part?

The second I saw him-
Something tightened in my chest.

Like a wire pulled too taut.

Like something inside me said, There you are.

And I hated it.

Dara smirked. "You both are so fucked."

I swallowed, jaw clenching.

Jin must've felt the weight of my stare, because his eyes flicked toward the glass-toward me.

And for half a second, something flickered across his face.

Surprise.

Then-something else.
Something unreadable.
Something dangerous.

And then, just as quickly-
He smirked.

And continued walking.

I exhaled sharply, turning away, willing my heartbeat to slow the fuck down.

Dara laughed, sipping her coffee. "Oh, this is so much fun."

I gritted my teeth.

"Dara."

"Yes, my love?"

"I thought you're going to lunch with him."

"Oh right. Bye Joon! You're free to to join us by the way"

"Shut up."

I continued walking away, leaving her laughing, completely enjoying all this.

I don't know when it started.

Maybe it was the second time I walked past his law firm and didn't stop.

Maybe it was the moment I caught myself wanting to.

Either way-somehow, some fucking how-Kim Seokjin became a problem I couldn't ignore.

It started with a phone call.
Then another.
Then another.

"Joon," Jin sighed. "You do realize I charge people for this?"

I smirked, twirling a pen between my fingers. "And yet, here you are, still answering."

A long pause. Then, a sigh. "What is it this time?"
