Chapter 77: Everything and Nothing

Start from the beginning

And then, one night, he looked at me from across his living room, something hesitant in his eyes, and said-

"You know you could just live here, right?"

I blinked. "What?"

Jin cleared his throat, suddenly awkward.

"I mean-you're already here most of the time." He shifted slightly. "Just... makes sense."

I stared at him.

Jin never did things that didn't have an escape route.

But this?
This was a commitment.

I stepped closer, tilting my head. "You want me to move in?"

Jin scoffed. "God, you're so needy-"

I grabbed a pillow and smacked him in the face.

He grunted, stumbling slightly, then grinned.

And that night-after we had stopped laughing, after we had collapsed onto his ridiculously expensive couch-

I looked at him and said,
"Okay."

And just like that-I was home.

Dara was the first to find out.

"You guys are so obvious, it's painful," she teased, sipping her wine as she watched Jin type something on his phone-probably a message to me, despite the fact that we had just spent the entire day together.

Jin rolled his eyes. "Shut up."

Dara grinned. "No. I love this. My two idiots in love."

Jin looked like he was fighting back a smile.

Dara softened. "I'm really happy for you."

And that-
That meant everything.

We weren't just in love.
We were partners.

Jin pushed me to be better.

To refine my vision for the foundation. To fight smarter, not just harder.

And in return, I pushed him.

To step outside the world he had always known. To see what was possible beyond the walls of his family's influence.

"You don't have to be like them," I told him one night, watching him across the kitchen counter.

Jin scoffed. "And who else would I be?"

I reached for his hand.

"Someone good," I whispered.

He stared at me.

And slowly-so slowly it made my heart ache-He laced his fingers with mine.

We built a life together.

It wasn't perfect.

It was messy, full of late nights and exhausted mornings and stress and battles-but it was ours.

Jin won case after case.

He stopped defending the powerful.
Started defending the powerless.

He was so good at it that no one could stop him-not even his family.

And me?

The Speak Yourself Foundation was finally thriving.

We weren't struggling anymore.
We were doing something.

Changing things.
Making a difference.

And through it all-
Jin was by my side.

Every step.
Every moment.
