Chapter 67: Fairy Lights and First Kisses

Start from the beginning

That’s how the competition begins.

We’re both terrible. But that doesn’t stop us from trying.
With each loss, our insults get pettier.

“Maybe if you didn’t have tiny, weak hands, you’d win.”

“Maybe if you believed in me, I’d win.”

By the time we’re on our eighth attempt, the vendor is laughing at us.

I finally manage to grab a small tiger plushie, holding it up like a trophy.

“HA!” I cheer. “Who’s the champion now?!”

Taehyung pouts dramatically, crossing his arms. “This is betrayal.”

I grin, holding out the plushie. “Here. For you.”

His eyes widen

His eyes widen. “But you won it?”

I shrug. “What’s the point of winning if I can’t give it to my soulmate?”

His ears turn pink.
And for the first time today—Taehyung is speechless.

I grin, linking our fingers again.

“Come on, bear cub,” I tease. “Let’s go get more food.”

And with a dazed, lovesick smile—he follows.

The sun is dipping below the skyline, painting the sky in soft hues of pink, orange, and violet.

The street market is beginning to quiet down, the bustling crowds thinning as the golden hour casts its warm glow over everything.

But Taehyung and I?
We’re still holding hands.

It’s ridiculous, really. We haven’t let go since he picked me up, and at this point, I’m convinced he has no plans of releasing me anytime soon. Not that I mind.

At all.

“Hyung, hurry up!” Tae whines playfully, tugging at my arm like an overexcited child dragging his parent through a theme park.

His fingers tighten around mine, his steps bouncing with excitement.

I let him pull me along, my lips twitching into a smirk. “What’s the rush, bear cub? We have all night.”

Tae gasps dramatically, eyes widening as if I’ve personally offended him. “Jin hyung! Time waits for no one! We have places to be, memories to make, romance to indulge in—"

I snort. “Ah, yes. The urgency of love.”

He gasps, placing a hand over his heart. “Exactly! You understand me.”

And then he grins, beaming so brightly it feels like I’m staring directly into the sun.

I can’t help it—I squeeze his hand a little tighter.
