Start from the beginning

The golden-furred monkey gave it the strangest look before shaking his head and gently placing a hand on Macaque's shoulder, giving it a little shake.

Wukong: Mac. Mac, wake up. The floating screens back.

Macaque groaned as he slowly opened his amber eyes, one of his ears flicking as he sat up and rubbed his eyes, blinking to get the sleep out of them.

Wukong stared longer than he should've because when Macaque looked at him, he narrowed his eyes.

Macaque: What.

Wukong rapidly blinked before giving him a smile, then looking to the floating screen and reading over the questions. Macaque, after huffing, also did so.

They both took the first question in and deadpanned in sync.

Wukong & Macaque: Neither of us can drive those death machines.

The golden simian smiled awkwardly.

Wukong: I tried to once, but uh...

He let out a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his neck.

Wukong: I kind of, um... crashed off a bridge and into a river during the test because I mixed up the pedals and may have turned the wheel too hard.

The black simian now sitting next to him instead of on top of him sighed.

Macaque: Why am I not surprised by that?

His mate just gave him a shrug, which made him let out another sigh just as the floating screen spat out three leather bound journals.

The shadow monkey caught them easily, glancing down at them. Macaque hummed as he looked each journal over carefully before neatly stacking them onto the coffee table.

Macaque: Beautiful designs.

Keeping a hand on the cover of the top journal, Macaque looked up and read the question addressed to him alone.

The warrior grinned as he leant back into the couch while crossing his arms.

Macaque: First, thank you for the journals. They will be well used. Second, I've already seen the Aurora Borealis.

Macaque: I mean, it was a long time ago, centuries even, but it was one of the most breathtaking things I've ever seen. I actually painted it.

Suddenly he threw Wukong a glare.

Macaque: Unfortunately, it no longer exists.

Wukong started laughing nervously once more when he felt the glare.

Wukong: Yeah... I kind of dropped that same painting in the ocean when he brought it back from his little trip around the world.

The black simian bared his fangs at him.

Macaque: I handed that painting I spent hours on to you in confidence, and you dropped it in the fucking ocean and ruined it!

Buddha, it was terrifying how long Macaque could hold a grudge.

The King whimpered and scooted as far away from his mate as he could before quickly scanning his eyes over the question only for him.

Wukong: Hmm...I do enjoy the odd video game—you know, as long as I'm in them—but I have tried other games before. Nothing I really enjoyed, though.

He rubbed his chin humming in thought for a moment.

Wukong: I don't actually know if I have played VR games before, though. I mean, obviously I have the setup lying around here somewhere, but I don't think I've actually played anything using it other than the game that has me in it, and I only really use it for that because it projects a perfect copy of you into the game as the character you play as. It doesn't actually feel like you're there the way I believe VR is supposed to.

Next to him, unseen by Wukong, Macaque looked away with a sweat drop and an awkward smile. Yeah, he kind of gave that thing away to MK for the kid to borrow, but he hasn't seen it since.

Actually, Macaque's pretty sure the kid may have accidentally broken it and is currently trying to save money to buy a new one before either monkey notices.

He's pretty sure he's heard Mei talking about something similar happening before, something about a sleepover and her dad's prized pinball machine.

[All the gifts you guys have given them so far! Hopefully you'll all know which ones are the things you gave them.

Minus the couch & recliner chair, of course! Those are just there so you know what they look like! Couldn't find a peach-coloured, peach-shaped coffee table, though. 😭 Maybe one of you guys can make a fanart of it or something?

It'd be shaped like the peaches from Lego Monkie Kid.

Anyway! Here are all the gifts Wukong & Macaque have gotten from you guys. Some of them I had to make as I couldn't find images of them, but I think they turned out quite well!]
