They schemed, manipulated, fought to regain control.
But we weren't giving him any.
Taehyung sat between Yoongi and me, his fingers absently stroking the fur of his teddy bear, a small, distracted habit.
Namjoon was beside Yoongi, one arm draped over the back of Tae's chair, his thumb rubbing slow, soothing circles against the fabric of Tae's sweater.
He wasn't saying much, but his presence was grounding. Tae had leaned into his warmth more than once.
And Jin Oppa?
Oppa was across from us, reviewing documents, his expression unreadable-but we knew him now.
Knew the way his fingers tapped against the table in quiet anticipation. He was waiting, watching, already ten steps ahead.
This was war, and Jin Oppa was our general.
Jisoo, ever efficient, had been updating us with every new development. So far, Mr. Choi had called his bank six times. Each time, he had been told the same thing-his accounts were frozen by court order.
Jin oppa chuckled when she relayed the latest attempt. "He really thought throwing a tantrum would work?"
Hyung Sik smirked, crossing his arms. "People like him are used to bullying their way through things. He's still in denial."
Woo Shik, flipping through emails, glanced up. "Well, denial's about to turn into full-blown panic."
Tae blinked. "What now?"
Woo Shik smirked. "He just contacted a high-powered defense attorney."
Silence.
Yoongi scoffed. "And?"
Seojun looked downright amused. "And... they refused to take his case."
Tae stared. "Wait-what?"
Jisoo grinned. "No one wants to defend him, Tae. Not against this much evidence."
She leaned forward, her voice brimming with satisfaction. "No lawyer with a reputation to protect wants to be on the losing side of something this public."
Hyung Sik chuckled. "He's poison now. Anyone who defends him is risking their own career."
Tae exhaled. His fingers stilled against his teddy bear.
"So... he's alone."
Jin Oppa smirked. "Completely."
Something shifted in the air.
Tae swallowed hard, his gaze flickering between Jin Oppa, Woo Shik, Jisoo, Seojun, Hyung Sik-all these people who were fighting for him. For him.
His fingers curled around the bear's paw.
Yoongi nudged him gently. "Talk to us, baby bear."
Tae exhaled. "I just..." He shook his head. "I didn't think... I've never imagined that what's happening right now could ever happen."
Namjoon's voice was soft but firm. "It's happening. It's real. This is real."
Tae blinked rapidly. I reached for his hand. Yoongi did too.
Jin Oppa, across the table, was watching him closely. His professional mask cracked just slightly, and for a moment, it was just our soulmate.
"You're not fighting alone, Taehyung," Oppa murmured.
Tae licked his lips. His throat bobbed.
And then-
He smiled.
Small. Quiet. But real.
"I know."
Joon exhaled deeply, then-without hesitation-he reached over and pulled Tae into a hug.
