Tae let out a slow, unsteady breath. Yoongi reached over, taking his other hand, intertwining their fingers.
Yoongi's voice was gentle, but there was steel beneath it. "You don't have to watch it unfold alone, bear cub."
Tae turned toward him, something shifting in his expression.
Joon, always so composed, held his gaze without hesitation.
"We're in this together."
Tae swallowed. "Together."
And just like that, we weren't just preparing for war anymore.
We were marching into battle.
The air in the conference room had shifted.
Taehyung's signature was still drying on the final set of documents, but his shoulders were straighter now.
His hands, though slightly unsteady, were no longer gripping his teddy bear for dear life.
He had made his choice.
Now, the world would have to live with it.
Across the table, Woo Shik's tone grew serious. "We need to anticipate how they'll react."
Hyung Sik leaned forward, his sharp eyes scanning Tae's face carefully.
"They might try to run, bribe officials, or-" his gaze darkened slightly, "threaten you."
Taehyung stiffened. His fingers curled around the fabric of his sweater.
"Threaten me?" he echoed.
Yoongi's expression immediately darkened. His arm pressed lightly against Tae's as if reminding him that he was there, that he wasn't going anywhere.
The room's temperature seemed to drop.
"Let them fucking try." His voice was quiet, but his fury was unmistakable.
Jin Oppa didn't look away from Taehyung as he spoke. His voice was steady, unshaken. "They won't get near you."
Namjoon, who had been quiet but intensely present, shifted closer.
"We won't let them." His voice was warm but resolute.
Taehyung exhaled, his fingers slowly uncurling from Yoongi's sleeve.
Seojun nodded. "Legally, we'll be filing an emergency restraining order in case they attempt to contact or harm you."
Jisoo, ever efficient, slid a paper forward. "Once the case is public, they may try to reach out, to manipulate, to guilt-trip you. This order makes sure they can't."
Oppa's eyes locked onto Tae's, unwavering.
"They will not touch you again. Ever."
The finality in his voice sent a shiver down my spine.
Yoongi reached his hands, intertwining his fingers with Tae's. His grip was gentle but firm, a silent promise that no one was going to hurt him-not while they were here.
Taehyung looked down at their joined hands, his breath coming out slower, steadier.
Woo Shik continued, smoothly shifting the conversation forward.
"We also need to prepare for the court battles."
Seojun leaned in. "Your uncle and aunt will hire high-profile defense attorneys. They'll try to poke holes in our case, discredit testimonies, and make this as messy as possible."
Jisoo smirked. "Let them try. We're five steps ahead."
Hyung Sik chuckled darkly. "More like ten."
Taehyung's jaw clenched. His voice was quieter now, but no less certain.
