Chapter 55: Ground Zero ⚠️

Start from the beginning

Tae hesitated.
"I don't know the full amount, but... my parents were well off. And I know they spent a lot."

Hyung Sik leaned back, confident.
"Leave it to me. They can't hide money forever."

A silence fell over the room.
The weight of everything sank in.

Tae exhaled slowly, then looked at Jin Oppa.

"And once we have all of this?" His voice was steadier now.

Jin Oppa held his gaze.
"Then we take the next step." His eyes were unwavering.

"We bring them down."

Tae inhaled sharply.
Then, slowly-he nodded.

Yoongi squeezed his knee. I squeezed his hand.
Namjoon did too.

The weight of everything we had just gone over still lingered in the air. Taehyung sat between Yoongi and me.

Namjoon remained close, Tae's teddy bear still clutched in his lap. But something had shifted.

There was fire in his eyes now-a quiet but unmistakable resolve that hadn't been there before.

He was still nervous, still overwhelmed

He was still nervous, still overwhelmed. But he wasn't alone.

Jin Oppa leaned forward, his hands clasped on the table in front of him, his expression firm yet steadying.

"Now that we've covered Step One, it's time to talk about Step Two-filing the criminal charges."

The energy in the room sharpened instantly.

Tae inhaled deeply, his grip on the bear tightening. Yoongi's hand on his knee remained, his thumb rubbing slow, grounding circles.

I squeezed Tae's hand gently, letting him know that whatever came next-we were here.

And Namjoon? Namjoon reached out as well, his large hand resting over Tae's forearm, thumb brushing over his sleeve in slow, soothing motions. His touch was steady, unshakable.

"Whatever happens next, you won't face it alone," Namjoon murmured, his deep voice gentle yet so full of certainty.

Tae exhaled shakily, his grip on his bear loosening just slightly.

Oppa's gaze flickered to Namjoon for the briefest second. There was still an awkward tension between them, but in this moment, something softened.

Just a little.

Then, Jin Oppa shifted back into work mode, clearing his throat as he tapped the documents in front of him.

"This step isn't just about justice-it's about making sure they can never hurt you or anyone else again," he said firmly.

Tae swallowed hard but nodded. "Okay," he whispered.

Jisoo, Jin's paralegal, spoke up next.

"We'll be filing multiple felony charges against them, each carrying heavy legal consequences." She slid a neatly organized document forward. "Here's the breakdown."
