Chapter 55: Ground Zero ⚠️

Start from the beginning

Namjoon's jaw tightened. He hadn't moved since she started speaking.

But his hands were clenched so tightly that his knuckles had turned white.

Then, Woo Shik gestured to the woman beside Jin Oppa.

"This is Jisoo, Jin's paralegal and secretary."

Jisoo stood, offering a kind smile. "We've met before, and I've been the one sending you updates on the case," she said.

"I assist in legal research, document organization, and trial preparation. I'll be making sure that every piece of evidence we have is presented clearly and effectively."

She smiled slightly.
"You don't need to worry about the details. We'll handle everything."

And finally-Jin Oppa.

Woo Shik turned to him, smiling slightly.
"And, of course, our legal counsel and lead criminal lawyer-Kim Seokjin."

Oppa had been silent the whole time, watching and gauging, finally smirked slightly and-
Winked.

I blinked.
Yoongi stared.
Tae snorted.

The tension in the room broke instantly.
Tae's shoulders shook as he snickered quietly, his teddy bear bouncing slightly from the movement.

The reaction was immediate.

Ji Woo smiled. Hyung Sik's lips twitched. Jisoo chuckled. Seo Joon exhaled softly through his nose, and Woo Shik shook his head in amusement.

It was so uncharacteristic of Jin Oppa. But so needed.

And Oppa knew it.
His smirk widened slightly.

He didn't care about maintaining his image right now-not when Tae needed to feel safe.

Joon, who had been quiet the whole time, suddenly huffed a small laugh, shaking his head.

"Of course," he murmured under his breath.

Oppa's gaze flickered to him briefly, something unreadable crossing his face.

Then, finally, he straightened slightly, his tone shifting from playful to serious.

"My role in this case," he said, "is to make sure every criminal charge we file sticks. I'm here to make sure they don't slip through the cracks. That no loophole, no amount of money, and no manipulation can save them."

Tae swallowed hard, staring at him.
Woo Shik leaned forward slightly, his tone still gentle.

"Legally, we have everything we need to pursue both criminal and civil charges."

A heavy silence followed.
Then-Jin Oppa spoke.

"You're not alone in this, Tae."
His voice was quieter now, but unshakable.
"You have us. And we are going to win this."

Tae's grip on his teddy bear loosened slightly.

Namjoon finally moved, his hand settling firmly over Tae's.

I turned my hand over, slipping my fingers fully into Tae's.

Yoongi did the same on his other side.

A wall of love.
A wall of support.

Tae looked between us. His gaze flickered to Jin Oppa. To Woo Shik. To every person sitting at this table.

And then, slowly-ever so slowly-he nodded.

"I trust you," he whispered.

Oppa's expression softened.
"Good."
