Chapter 55: Ground Zero ⚠️

Start from the beginning

But none of that mattered.

What mattered was who was sitting across from us.

Jin Oppa. At the center, where he belonged.

A quiet force of power, of control, of certainty.

And beside him, the team he had assembled. Five professionals, all handpicked. All here for Tae.

They were intimidating on the surface-highly skilled, highly experienced. But none of them looked at us with cold detachment.

Their expressions were warm. Kind.
They weren't just here as professionals.
They were here to fight.

Yoongi's hand tightened slightly on the table, and I could see the tension in his jaw, the way he was holding himself still.

I knew that he was holding back rage.
That if he let himself feel too much, too soon, he'd want to do something reckless.

But for Tae's sake, he stayed steady.

Across the table, the man sitting to Jin Oppa's right, a sharp-looking but kind-eyed figure, straightened in his chair. His voice, when he spoke, was smooth but gentle.

"Good morning," he greeted.

"I'm Choi Woo Shik, the legal secretary overseeing this case. My job is to ensure that everything remains updated and organized, that all administrative matters are handled efficiently, and that this case progresses without delay."

His eyes softened as he looked at Taehyung.

"I know this must be overwhelming, but I want you to know-every single person in this room is here because we believe in fighting for you."

Tae inhaled sharply. I felt his fingers twitch under mine.

Woo Shik turned toward the man beside him. "Let me introduce everyone, so you know exactly who is handling what."

The first person to stand was Park Seo Joon, a man with sharp features but a soft, knowing smile.

"I'll be your civil lawyer," he said smoothly, bowing slightly before meeting Tae's gaze.
"I specialize in inheritance and fraud cases-which means I'll be handling the legal battle to take back everything that was stolen from you."

His voice was calm, steady, certain.
"No one gets away with stealing what rightfully belongs to you. We'll make sure of that."

Tae swallowed, nodding stiffly.
His grip on his bear remained tight, but I felt the smallest shift in his posture. He believed him.

Next, a man with sharp, observant eyes and a quiet but confident air stood.

"I'm Park Hyung Sik, a private investigator," he introduced himself, bowing respectfully.
"My role is to uncover every hidden asset, every fraudulent transaction, every buried lie. If they've tried to cover their tracks, I will find it."

Yoongi exhaled softly. I could feel the tension in him ease-just slightly.

Then, a woman with warm eyes and an air of gentle authority stood.

"My name is Jung Ji Woo. I'm a therapist specializing in trauma recovery." She bowed slightly, her gaze full of quiet understanding.

"Taehyung, your emotional and psychological well-being matters just as much as the legal battle. My job is to document the trauma you've endured-to ensure that your pain is acknowledged, that your suffering is not ignored."
Her voice softened.

"Your experiences are real. And I will make sure the court understands the depth of what you've been through."

Tae blinked rapidly, his lips parting slightly-like he wanted to say something, but the words were stuck.
