I hugged Jiwon's mom tightly, feeling like I was being wrapped in everything good in the world.
"Oh, sweetheart," she murmured, cupping my face. "You take care of my baby, alright?
Tae whined in protest. "I'm not a baby."
I smiled. "Always."
She turned to Yoongi next, reaching for his hands-and for once, he let her.
"My son," she said softly.
And Yoongi-who had never been anyone's son but his mother's- Didn't flinch. Didn't argue.
He just nodded, something in his chest settling.
Jiwon's dad, always quiet, placed a hand on Tae's shoulder before looking at all three of us.
"Protect each other," he murmured.
Tae nodded immediately.
"We will," Yoongi promised, his voice certain, unwavering.
And me? I just held onto them.
