Chapter 54: The Countdown || Part 1 ⚠️

Start from the beginning

We promised to make this a routine now, Yoongi picking us up, grabbing breakfast, and then driving us to work together.

Even if we're not living together right now, these mornings are ours.

When we pull up in front of Tae's building, he pauses, glancing between us like he's hesitating.

Yoongi raises an eyebrow. "What?"

Tae pouts dramatically. "This feels like being dropped off at school."

I giggle. "Want me to pack you a lunch, baby bear?"

Tae gasps, clutching his chest. "You love me."

Yoongi groans. "Get out of my car."

Tae laughs, but then-just before he opens the door-he turns serious, looking at us with something gentle in his gaze.

"...Thanks. For everything."

Yoongi exhales, reaching over to ruffle Tae's hair again. "Idiot. We'll see you tonight."

Tae beams, nodding as he finally steps out, Yeontan peeking out from his bag as he waves dramatically.

I watch him disappear into the building before turning to Yoongi.
"...We got this, right?"

Yoongi glances at me, his hand reaching over to squeeze mine. "Yeah, baby."

His fingers linger, warm and steady.
"We got this."

As soon as we stepped out of Mr. Lee's office, everyone already knows.

Yeona practically tackles me in a hug.
"Y/N!" she squeals, holding me tight.

"One week. ONE WEEK."

I let out a breathy laugh, hugging her back. "I know."

She pulls away, gripping my shoulders. "I know it's going to be a lot. But you and Yoongi-you guys have us, okay? We are ALL rooting for you and for Tae."

Warmth floods my chest.

Before I can respond, Dara appears beside us, her sharp, professional demeanor softening as she gives me a look of quiet understanding.

"You ready?" she asks, voice gentle.

I exhale. "As ready as I'll ever be."

Her lips twitch into a small smile before she surprises me-reaching out to smooth a stray strand of hair from my face.

"I'm proud of you," she says simply. "Of all of you."

I blink rapidly, my throat tightening.
Dara sees right through me. She always has.

Before I can fully process her words, a familiar deep, smooth voice cuts through the air.

"Don't get emotional yet, Y/N."

I whip around just in time to see Jae grinning as he leans against his desk.

"You still have a week before the big day," he teases, crossing his arms. "Save some tears for later."

I groan, shoving his shoulder. "Shut up."

He laughs, dodging me. "Seriously, though-go kick some ass, okay? We all believe in you guys."

From behind him, Ha Eun nods firmly. "Jae's annoying, but he's right. You and Suga are doing something incredible for your soulmate. We're with you."

Trina, Ha Eun's assistant, grins. "And we'll cover anything you need while you're gone. Don't worry about work, just focus on this."

The support is overwhelming.

I take a shaky breath, pressing a hand over my heart.

"Thank you," I murmur. "Really."
