His glare is weak. "You're the worst."
I chuckle. "I've been called worse."
Suga groans, finally dragging a hand down his face. "I swear to god, you and Tae are going to be dangerous together."
Something warm curls in my chest at that. The idea of belonging to this-to them.
I let my voice drop just a little lower, just enough to test something. "You like that, though. Don't you?"
Suga's breath stutters.
And then-
"Namjoon," he says, his voice quieter now.
And fuck.
The way he says my name.
I want to hear it again.
Slower.
Softer.
Breathless.
Suga swallows thickly, clearly noticing the shift in energy between us.
I don't step back. Neither does he.
And for a moment-just a moment-it feels like something's going to happen.
A touch. A confession. Something undeniable.
But then-
"Ah-President Kim!"
We both jolt slightly, turning toward the voice.
A young woman, one of my employees, approaches with a bright smile, dipping into a polite bow.
Suga takes a noticeable step back, clearing his throat, and I hate the sudden distance between us.
"Iseul," I acknowledge, nodding. "Enjoying the event?"
"Oh, absolutely!" she beams, twirling her hair and blushing as she continues "I just wanted to say how honored I am to be part of the foundation. The work we're doing-it's inspiring."
I smile, always appreciative of the passion my team has for our mission. "That means a lot. We wouldn't be here without people like you."
Iseul flushes further, looking flattered before glancing briefly at Suga. "Oh! Sorry to interrupt your conversation."
Suga shakes his head, brushing it off. "No worries."
She nods, taking a step back and then looking at me her flushed expression returning "Well, I'll let you get back to it. Have a great evening, President Kim."
As she walks away, I hear it.
The smallest sound from Suga.
Not quite a scoff. Not quite a sigh.
Oh?
I glance at him, and sure enough-his jaw is just a bit tight, his fingers tapping lightly against his leg.
I grin.
Slowly, I lean in again, my voice dropping just enough to be teasing. "You're not jealous, are you?"
Suga immediately scoffs. "Of course not."
"Hmm." I hum, pretending to consider it. "Because it kind of seemed like you were."
"I wasn't."
"You sure?"
"Namjoon."
God.
I'm never getting tired of the way he says my name.
I smirk. "Don't worry about her or anyone else for that matter" I murmur, letting my voice dip just slightly, playful but genuine.
And then-just to see what he'll do-
I take another step closer.
Suga freezes.
And I lean in, letting my breath ghost against his ear.
"All I see right now is you."
