Seokjin exhaled, long and slow, his next words spoken with razor-sharp precision.

"I have spent my career defending the worst of humanity," he said, voice even, deliberate.

Yi Jun swallowed hard.

"I have stood in courtrooms next to murderers, embezzlers, war criminals, men who have built empires from the bones of the powerless."

CEO Lim clenched his jaw.

"And yet-" Seokjin let out a quiet, humorless chuckle, his eyes darkening. "I find you two more disgusting than any of them."

Yi Jun flinched.

"Do you know why?" Seokjin continued smoothly.

Neither of them dared to answer.

He leaned in, voice dropping into something low and lethal.

"Because they, at the very least, knew exactly what they were."

He let the words sink in.
Yi Jun's pulse pounded in his ears.

"You-" Seokjin tilted his head, his expression almost curious, like he was studying something beneath a microscope.

"You like to pretend you're different. That your crimes are smaller. That your betrayals don't leave scars."

His eyes turned to steel.

"But you knew exactly what you were doing when you took his case and turned him away."

Yi Jun's shoulders tensed visibly.

"You knew what you were doing when you let his abusers know where to find him and that he was suing them."

CEO Lim's fingers curled into fists.

Seokjin smirked, slow and sharp. "Tell me, how much was he worth to you?"

Yi Jun paled.
Seokjin chuckled, but there was no warmth left in his voice.

"How much did the Chois pay you to tell them he was looking for justice?" Seokjin's voice remained silken, mocking.

"A few million? Some favors in return? A better standing in their social circles?"

The two men remained dead silent.

"You profited from his suffering." His fingers drummed against the table, the rhythmic sound filling the suffocating silence. "You took his pain, packaged it, and delivered it to the highest bidder."

Seokjin nodded, almost like he was praising them.
"Oh, I bet they thanked you handsomely."

His eyes flicked to CEO Lim.

"You-did you take a personal cut?"

CEO Lim's jaw locked. "Mr. Kim-"

Seokjin's lips curled.

"That must've been a nice little bonus for you," he said lightly. "Tell me, when you sat across from him, listened to him talk about the hell he lived through, did you already know you were going to turn him away?"

Neither man spoke.

Seokjin scoffed.

"Or did you decide halfway through?" he pressed, his voice taking on a more mocking edge. "Was there a moment? A flicker of doubt? A second where your conscience almost kicked in?"

He took another measured step forward.

"Or did you just enjoy watching him break?"

Yi Jun flinched violently at that, his face drained of all color.
