Chapter 48: A Reckoning in Motion ⚠️

Start from the beginning

Like something we've all been waiting for-
Without ever knowing we were waiting at all.

The man-our soulmate-turns to me next.

And God.

For a moment, I forget how to breathe.

Because he is, without a doubt-
The most beautiful man I have ever seen.

Not just in the way he looks-though, he is God damn breathtaking.

But in the way he feels.

Soft yet strong.
Grace wrapped in warmth.

His presence is so steady, so consuming, it feels like standing in sunlight after an endless winter.

His skin is flawless-smooth and fair, catching the light like it was meant to. His lips, soft and full, curve with a quiet kind of kindness, like he was sculpted not to intimidate, but to comfort.

And his eyes.
God, his eyes.

Deep. Unwavering.

Overflowing with something raw, profound-something I don't have a name for yet, but I can feel it curling around my ribs, settling into the spaces between my bones.

And then-
He speaks.
And his voice is velvet.
Rich, smooth-warm in a way that feels like an embrace.

"I have met you too."
A simple sentence, but it lands like a promise.
Like a bridge built between past and present.

"I'm happy to see you again."
Something in my chest tightens.

Because he's not just saying the words.
He means them.

He. Means. Them.

I suck in a sharp breath.

"You remember?"
My voice is barely above a whisper.
Because of course he does.

I don't know why I ask, but something inside me needed to hear him say it.

He tilts his head slightly-a small, charming gesture-his eyes soft, so understanding, so sure.

"Of course I remember."
There's not a single moment of hesitation.
And then-
He smiles.

And it shakes something loose inside me.

A smile so gentle, so heartbreakingly tender, it feels like being known.

"How could I forget?"
His voice is so steady, so absolute-like forgetting me was never even an option.

And I feel it.

Like a warmth spreading through my chest, unraveling every doubt, every hesitation, every moment I spent wondering if I was imagining all of this.

Because I wasn't.
Because he was always meant to find me again.

I swallow, forcing myself to breathe.

"My name is Y/N," I say, my voice softer now, holding the weight of this moment.

"I'm glad to see you again too."
His gaze holds mine.
Deep. Unwavering.

Like he's looking through me-into me.

Like he already knows everything about me, and accepts me anyway.

Like this moment, this meeting, this impossible connection-
Was always meant to be.

And then-
He turns to Taehyung.

Slowly. Deliberately.

Like he already knows exactly what to do.

Like he knows Taehyung needs it.
