Start from the beginning

Yoongi and I exchange a glance, nodding before grabbing our things.

As we follow Dara out of the room, my heart beats a little faster.

Glass walls, minimalist furniture, and a perfectly organized desk. Not a single thing out of place.

It should be intimidating, but instead, it just feels... Dara.

Efficient. No-nonsense.

She gestures for us to sit as she closes the door behind us. "Make yourselves comfortable."

Yoongi and I exchange a glance before settling into the chairs across from her desk.

Dara doesn't waste time.

"I spoke to my fiancé," she says, leaning against her desk, arms crossed. "I told him everything-Taehyung's case, the abuse, the legal loopholes, the lack of response from your current lawyers."

I hold my breath, fingers tightening slightly on my lap.

"And?" Yoongi asks, voice steady.

Dara exhales, her expression softening just a bit. "He wants to meet you."

Relief floods through me so fast I almost feel lightheaded.

"He-" I blink. "Wait, really?"

Dara nods. "He needs to hear it from Taehyung directly before making a final decision, but he's seriously considering taking the case."

Yoongi releases a slow breath, tension easing from his shoulders. "That's... that's huge."

"It is," Dara agrees. "And even if he doesn't take it personally, he's going to make sure the case lands in the right hands. Someone he trusts completely."

I close my eyes for a second, letting the weight of her words settle in.

Because after weeks of feeling helpless, of being dismissed by incompetent lawyers, of hitting dead ends-this is the first real sign of hope.

"Dara," I say, my voice thick with emotion. "Thank you. I don't even know what to-"

"Don't," she interrupts, waving a hand. "I already told you-I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing it for me."

She smirks, but there's warmth behind it.
"And because I actually like you idiots now."

Yoongi huffs a quiet laugh, shaking his head. "That's a terrifying thought."

"I know, right?" Dara sighs dramatically. "What has my life become?"

I snort, but my chest still feels tight with gratitude.

"Seriously," I say, meeting her eyes. "This means everything to us. To Taehyung."

Dara's expression softens. "I know."
