Chapter 42: Operation Sibling Love

His brows raise.

"Well, shit."

I beam. "She loves him."

Taehyung, hearing this from the kitchen, immediately gasps and runs into the living room.

He sees them.

He squeals.

"OH MY GOD."

Yeontan twitches in his sleep but doesn't wake up.

Taehyung claps his hands in delight. "They're best friends now."

Yoongi sighs, setting his phone down. "I still think she's just given up on fighting him."

"No," Taehyung argues dramatically. "This is love."

I giggle, leaning into Yoongi. "Admit it. You're impressed."

Yoongi hums, watching as Wacha shifts slightly, pressing her little nose into Yeontan's fur before closing her eyes again.

Then-

A quiet smirk.

"...Yeah, okay. I'm impressed."

Taehyung grins, flopping onto the floor beside the couch to get a closer look.

"This is the best thing that's ever happened," he whispers.

I step closer, crouching down to admire the scene. "This is a historic moment."

Taehyung nods solemnly. "A breakthrough."

We stand there in awe, watching the two of them nap peacefully together.

And for the rest of the day, Taehyung refuses to let us breathe without reminding us of the significance of this moment.

Taehyung's wounds are also healing well.

His bruises are fading, the swelling around his eye has gone down, and the cuts on his knuckles have almost completely closed up.

Physically-he's getting there.

Emotionally?

It's still a process.

But every day, we see more and more of him again.

He teases Yoongi more, calling him hyungie in that playful, slightly flirty way that makes Yoongi sigh but secretly love it.
He steals my skincare products, acting scandalized when I tell him I don't mind.

He laughs more-real, genuine laughs that light up the entire room.

He sings softly in the mornings when he thinks we're not listening.

And Yoongi and I?

We drink in every single second.

Because we almost lost this.

And we will never take it for granted again.
