Not fighting.
Not hissing.
Just sleeping.
Wacha's tail is draped lazily over Yeontan's tiny back, and Yeontan is curled up in the tiniest ball, completely content.
I gasp.
Next to me, Yoongi stirs. "Mmm... what?"
I shake his arm, grinning. "Look."
He squints at where I'm pointing.
Then-
His eyes widen slightly.
"...Well, I'll be damned."
Taehyung stirs on my other side, rubbing his eyes. "What's happening?"
I point again.
He sits up so fast, he almost launches himself off the bed.
"Oh my God."
Yoongi sighs. "We are never going to hear the end of this."
Taehyung grabs my arm, whispering frantically. "We have to get a picture."
I giggle, already reaching for my phone. "On it."
Click.
Proof.
Forever documented.
A few days later, something even bigger happens.
Yeontan and Wacha... play together.
It starts with Yeontan bringing one of his small plush toys to the living room.
He squeaks it.
Then looks at Wacha expectantly.
Wacha, from her perch on the armrest, blinks.
She watches him for a moment, tail flicking.
Then-
With the slow, calculating grace only a cat possesses-
She pounces.
Not on him.
But at the toy.
Taehyung screams.
"DID YOU SEE THAT??"
I grab Yoongi's arm, shaking it. "Are they-are they playing?"
Yoongi stares. "I... I think so?"
Taehyung has literal tears in his eyes. "My babies."
Yoongi sighs, rubbing his jaw. "Well. I guess that's it."
I grin. "Operation Sibling Love is officially-"
"A SUCCESS," Taehyung finishes, throwing his arms around both of us.
And just like that-
Yeontan and Wacha are no longer just cohabiting.
They are siblings.
For real.
Forever.
____________
It's funny how quickly things change.
Just weeks ago, our apartment was filled with tension, worry, and exhaustion.
The weight of Taehyung's absence had lingered in every corner, pressing into the silence, turning ordinary moments into something heavy.
But now?
Now, the space is alive again.
With laughter.
With warmth.
With him.
We wake up to sleepy voices and soft touches.
To Yeontan's tiny yaps and Wacha's unimpressed glares.
To Taehyung stealing bites from my plate and calling Yoongi, hyungie, just to hear him sigh.
To quiet moments when we're wrapped up in blankets, tangled limbs and slow whispers, feeling whole again.
Healing isn't linear.
But it's happening.
And every little moment-every step forward-feels like a victory.
The morning starts like any other.
Sunlight spills through the windows, casting golden hues across the apartment.
Yeontan is curled up on the couch, paws twitching in his sleep.
Wacha is perched on the windowsill, flicking her tail lazily, watching the world outside.
I stand in the kitchen, humming softly as I prepare my hot cocoa, the warmth of the cup settling between my palms as I get ready to start my morning with work.
It's great that the company agreed for us to work from home for now, we were really worried that they were going to be against it.
But I guess thats one of the pros in a company that developed the Soulmate app, the moment we explained to them that we needed to stay at home for a few weeks for our soulmate.
They immediately agreed without hesitation, they even gave us 3 months off as long as we work from home.
Yoongi sits at the dining table, focused on his laptop, fingers tapping steadily against the keyboard.
Probably working on the new security measure for the app-his usual way of staying grounded.
It's calm.
Normal.
Until-
A presence.
I glance up-
And find Taehyung standing in the hallway.
His teddy bear is clutched tightly in his arms, his expression unreadable.
Something in my chest tightens.
"Morning, baby bear," I say gently, smiling at him.
Yoongi hums in greeting, still focused on his screen.
Taehyung doesn't answer right away.
Instead, he swallows, shifting his grip on the bear.
Then-"I'm ready."
The words are quiet.
Barely there.
But they freeze me in place.
I set the teacup down carefully before turning to him fully.
Yoongi does the same, his laptop forgotten.
Taehyung exhales shakily, gripping the teddy bear tighter.
"I'm ready to tell you everything."
Silence.
A heavy, weighted silence.
Yoongi pushes his chair back, standing slowly.
"Tae," he says softly.
Taehyung looks at him.
Yoongi's eyes flicker with something deep. Something steady.
"You don't have to."
Taehyung shakes his head. "I do."
I step forward, reaching for his hand. "Baby, we meant it when we said we'd wait."
His lips press together, his grip tightening around my fingers.
"I know," he whispers. "But... I need to do this. I want to do this"
Yoongi exhales sharply, rubbing a hand over the back of his neck.
I share a look with him.
And we both know.
This is it.
We nod.
And together-
We take his hands.
And we prepare to listen.
