She bites her lip, eyes flickering to my mouth. "Then stop holding back."
Jesus fucking Christ.
I squeeze my eyes shut for a second, jaw tight, trying to keep myself in check. "I am holding back. Because if I don't, I won't stop."
"Then don't stop."
Her words punch the air from my lungs.
My restraint is hanging by a thread.
She shifts even closer, pressing her hand to my chest, her fingers warm even through my shirt.
My heart slams against my ribs, and I know she feels it.
"Yoongs," she whispers, eyes searching mine, voice softer now. "I want you."
I curse under my breath, my hands coming up to grip her wrists gently, forcing myself to pull away.
"Not like this."
Her face falls, her entire body going still.
I see the moment the rejection hits her.
She pulls her hands back like I burned her, her lips pressing together before she shifts away from me.
My stomach twists.
"Baby," I start, reaching for her again, but she pulls away completely, getting up from the couch and pacing the living room.
She doesn't look at me as she speaks, voice tight.
"You never make a move on me."
I freeze.
She lets out a sharp laugh, one that hurts because there's no humor in it.
"I mean, ever," she continues, arms crossed, eyes flashing. "I get it, Yoongi. You're quiet, you take things slow. But it's been months and-" She exhales sharply, raking a hand through her hair.
"Sometimes, I feel like you don't want me."
My breath leaves me.
"What?"
She finally looks at me, and for the first time tonight, she doesn't look playful or teasing.
She looks hurt.
I immediately stand, moving toward her, but she shakes her head.
"Do you know why I suggested drinking tonight?" she asks, voice quieter now.
"Because this is the only way I'd have the courage to seduce you."
I feel like I've been punched in the chest.
"Y/N-"
"I crave you, Yoongi," she says, voice trembling, eyes burning. "I have for months. But you never-" She shakes her head, wrapping her arms around herself like she's trying to hold herself together.
"You never want me the way I want you."
"That's not true." My voice is sharper than I mean it to be, frustration lacing every word. "Do you have any idea how much I want you?"
She laughs, but it's hollow. "Do I?"
I curse, running a hand down my face.
"Fuck, baby. I want you so much it fucking hurts. I think about you all the time. I dream about you."
Her breath catches, but she shakes her head. "Then why-"
"Because," I grit out, "I respect you. Because you mean more to me than just one night of losing control."
She flinches. "That's not what this is."
"I know." I step closer, hands trembling at my sides. "But you've been drinking, and I don't ever want you to wake up and think I took advantage of that."
