Chapter 34: Dinners & Existential Crisis

Start from the beginning

"We've also seen an incredible amount of donations through the in-app donations feature," Ha Eun continues. "Guys Over 700 million won donated to social justice causes in just a few months. This is groundbreaking. That's a huge win."

The room falls into awed silence. Our initial target of 10 million won on the first 6 months but 700 million!?! Omg!

it's crazy to think that we're part of something that has the potential to impact so many lives-it's a powerful feeling.

I glance at Yoongi, and his eyes are already on me. He catches my gaze and grins. It's that smile that always seems to melt away any tension in my body.

He's proud of me, and it means the world. I can't stop myself from squeezing his hand beneath the table.

"This is amazing," I whisper, unable to contain my excitement.

Yoongi leans in just slightly, his breath warm against my ear as he murmurs, "We're making history, baby."

The team continues to talk, sharing their excitement and anecdotes from friends and family who have used the app.

Some have mentioned how they're feeling closer to their soulmates, how the connection feels more meaningful than ever.

Others have shared how the educational resources and campaigns have opened their eyes to new social justice issues they hadn't considered before.

It's heartwarming, hearing about how the work we've done is actually changing lives.

Si woo speaks up from across the table. "It's not just about the app, though. It's about the people who use it. I'm hearing stories about soulmates reconnecting, helping each other through tough times, deepening bonds."

The applause that follows is warm, heartfelt. It's not just about numbers; it's about the impact we're having on the world.

The room's energy is palpable as Ha Eun and Trina continue to present the incredible stats.

But, between the applause and the excitement, Yoongi and I share a moment of quiet understanding.

His knee gently bumps mine under the table, and I can feel his warmth even through the fabric of my pants.

I can't help but glance at him, trying to suppress my grin. "You're really proud of this, huh?" I whisper, my voice just for him.

He doesn't answer immediately, his lips curling into a subtle smile. "Of course," he says, his tone warm but almost casual.
"You've been working on this for months. It's like watching something grow into something amazing."

I try not to get too flustered. Yoongi always knows how to make my heart skip a beat with his quiet words. "I couldn't have done it without you," I reply softly, just as Mr. Lee starts another round of applause for the team.

"Yeah, well," Yoongi says, a mischievous glint in his eye, "I'll just take credit for the backend security." He winks, and I roll my eyes, but inside, I'm glowing.

As the applause dies down, I turn my attention back to the team.

Yeona leans down to me with a grin. She's practically glowing, clearly proud of our work. "You guys crushed it. Honestly, I think even the critics are going to start looking at this app as a beacon of change."

I can't help but beam at her. "Thanks, Yeona," I reply, nudging her playfully. "I couldn't have done this without my team. And, honestly, without you, I'd probably be even more disorganized than I already am."

She laughs and high-fives me. "Don't even joke about it. I've seen your spreadsheets," she teases.

"Hey, those spreadsheets keep us on track," I defend, laughing along with her. "You know I'm not the most organized person, but I try."
