In a world where soulmates are confirmed with algorithms, can human connection still thrive?

He looks up when I approach, and his lips curve into that knowing, teasing smile of his.
"About time you showed up, bear cub," he says in that low, amused tone that sends a little shiver down my spine.
Noona gives me a bright smile, her eyes lighting up when she sees me. "We were starting to wonder if you were still in bed, Tae," she teases, and I'm instantly put at ease by the playful warmth in her voice.
I drop into the seat across from her. "I had to make sure I looked good enough to meet such beautiful people," I say in a poker face, trying to look serious as I feel my usual confidence coming back.
"Oh really?" hyung raises an eyebrow. "You had to put in that much effort to look presentable for us?"
"Hey! I'm trying to impress, okay?" I laugh, winking at him. "Gotta keep the mystery alive."

Noona giggles. "Oh please, you always look like you just came out from a cover feature, you know that already" she says as she winks at me.
Yoongi hyung shakes his head in a chuckle before he adds into it "And besides, we're beyond mystery at this point. I think we're all pretty comfortable with each other."
That's true. I do know I look good 😏
But fine, I digress.
They're totally right. We're close now.
Like, really close, it's amazing.
It feels like we've been together forever, even though we've only recently realized that we're all soulmates, that we belong together in this strange, beautiful connection.
We've been spending so much time together, and it's been so natural, so easy.
It's like we've always known each other.
Over breakfast, we talk about everything-work, upcoming projects, funny stories from our past.
The conversation flows effortlessly, and I can't help but laugh at the way hyung and noona banter back and forth. It's clear how much they care for each other.
And while I'm happy to be with them, laughing along, there's this small part of me that feels like I'm... missing something.
It's that feeling again, that fluttering ache in my chest. I feel like I'm close to them, but I'm not quite there.
It's like I'm a part of the group, but not really a full partner.
The day goes on, and we hang out until late afternoon.
We end up in the park, taking a walk by the lake, laughing as I try to make hyung and noona race me to the bridge.
Of course, I win, because, well, I'm fast like that, and yoongi hyung runs like a grandpa, almost like he's speed walking.
