Chapter 26: Handshakes and Hopes

Start from the beginning

The air in the room lightens as Y/N nods in agreement to my suggestion.

There's a subtle shift, a slight change in the dynamic between the teams, and I can feel it, like the tension is slowly giving way to something more collaborative.

"That sounds reasonable," Y/N says, her voice calm but filled with the quiet confidence I've come to respect.

"A beta test could give us the feedback we need, without compromising on either side." She turns to the rest of her team, seeking their validation.

Suga, always so composed, leans forward slightly, tapping his pen thoughtfully against his notebook.

"We can ensure that the beta version addresses both security concerns and user experience," he adds, his voice steady but laced with assurance. "I'll work on laying out the detailed framework for that."

I watch the two of them for a moment, struck by the way they work together.

It's seamless, effortless even.

They complement each other in a way that makes everything seem... easy.

Y/N's willingness to compromise, her quick understanding of Suga's concerns, and Suga's calm assurance that he can make it all work-it's a dynamic I can't help but admire.

And yet, it makes something stir inside me.

I feel like an outsider. Not in the sense that they're excluding me-It was my decision to stay away-but that they share something unspoken, a rhythm that's just... natural between them.

It's like watching two people dance in perfect synchrony, and I'm left wondering if I'll ever find my place in that-if I ever decide to do so.

Did he find his place in that too-with them?

Is he happy? Content? Even without me?

I shake the thought away quickly. There's no room for that right now.

We're here to work.

"I'll take your word for it, Suga" I reply, trying to keep my voice even. "We can make this work. And hopefully, the feedback we get will give us a clearer path forward."

The conversation shifts then, as it often does in meetings like this-away from the technicalities and toward more practical matters.

The team jots down a few notes, Ha eun's assistant-I think her name was Trina-pulls up the latest project timeline on the screen, and the room buzzes with more ideas.

Then, Ha Eun chimes in, her voice cutting through the ongoing chatter.

"Okay, so we're all on board with the beta test," she says, adjusting her glasses and clicking through the slides on her laptop. "But what are our next steps after that? Do we have a clear plan for what comes next in terms of both marketing and development?"

"Good question," Y/N says, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully as she turns toward Ha Eun. "Once we get the feedback from the beta, we'll need a strong marketing push to engage our target audience. We'll need data-driven insights to guide the final version, which means working closely with the UI/UX team to ensure that feedback translates well into actionable changes."

Suga nods along. "And on the development side, we'll need to prioritize fixes based on feedback, especially on security vulnerabilities. I'd suggest creating a phase two roadmap that includes a more refined testing process after the first round of fixes."

I can feel it now, the subtle but unmistakable way that they feed off each other's energy.

Y/N's pragmatism paired with Suga's meticulous planning.
