As we turned onto a quieter road, Taehyung leaned forward, placing his chin on the back of Yoongi's seat, looking at him with wide, almost adoring eyes. "So, Yoongi, what's your favorite ride at an amusement park? I've gotta know. I need to make sure I'm prepared to take you on the best one."
Yoongi glanced at him through the mirror, his expression a mixture of amusement and mild exasperation. "I'm not really the 'rides' type, Taehyung," he said, his tone low and smooth. "I prefer something a little more laid-back."
Taehyung's face scrunched up in mock disbelief. "What do you mean, laid-back? An amusement park is all about thrill!"
Yoongi shrugged, a playful glint in his eyes. "I'm more of a 'people-watching' kind of guy. You know, the kind who sits with a drink and just enjoys the chaos around them."
I couldn't help but laugh, imagining Yoongi perched somewhere, quietly observing all the commotion. It was such an 'Yoongi' thing to do.
"Well, I'm definitely getting you on at least one roller coaster," Taehyung announced, his voice serious, as though this was a mission he would not fail.
Yoongi shot him a sidelong glance. "Good luck with that."
Taehyung sat back, a glimmer of excitement in his eyes as he shifted his attention toward me. "How about you, Y/N? Are you a roller coaster person?" he asked, voice light and curious.
I chuckled, feeling a little shy under his gaze. "I'm more into the less intense rides, I think. I don't do well with loops."
Taehyung's eyes widened, and he leaned forward again, this time looking at me with mock horror. "You can't go to an amusement park and not ride the roller coasters! What if you're missing out on the thrill of your life?"
I laughed softly, feeling the warmth of his enthusiasm. "Well, maybe I'll try one with you, just to see what all the fuss is about."
His face lit up at the promise, and he leaned back in his seat, his hands clasped together in front of him. "Deal. I'll make sure you have the best time of your life."
His eyes lingered on me for a moment longer than necessary, a silent promise hanging between us.
The tension was subtle, but I could feel it.
Taehyung's attraction was undeniable, but there was something about the way he looked at me that felt genuine, his admiration clear.
And yet, I knew I wasn't the only one who had caught his attention.
Yoongi's quiet presence, his subtle protectiveness, and the way he would glance back at Taehyung whenever he spoke spoke volumes.
I'd seen Yoongi be affectionate before, but this was different.
There was a softness in the way he interacted with Taehyung that was impossible to miss. His concern when Taehyung had accidentally knocked over his drink earlier-it hadn't been just about cleaning up the mess.
There was something deeper there, something that went beyond the usual banter.
As if on cue, Taehyung reached over to grab a bottle of water from the cup holder between the seats.
He fumbled with the cap for a moment, then, with a soft chuckle, handed it to Yoongi in the front. "Here, your hands are probably busy driving. I'll get it for you."
Yoongi gave him a soft smile, his fingers brushing lightly over Taehyung's hand as he took the bottle. There was something unspoken in the moment, an intimacy that felt natural between them.
"Thanks," Yoongi said, his voice quiet, and I could see the way his gaze softened as he glanced at Taehyung through the rearview mirror.
The next few moments felt like they were unfolding in slow motion, with the air between them thickening, even if neither of them said anything more.
