But just before he could even take another step, a small blur zipped past me.
Wacha.
"Wacha!" I shouted, but the mischievous cat was already darting down the hallway at full speed, her little paws pattering on the floor.
Yoongi raised an eyebrow, but before he could say anything, he bent down and held his hands out as if to catch her.
"Hey, little troublemaker. Where do you think you're going?"
Wacha, clearly not fazed by Yoongi's attempt, stopped right in front of him, meowing up at him like she was begging for attention.
She knew exactly how to win over anyone's heart.
I ran over to them, my voice a little exasperated. "Wacha, seriously, don't dart out like that! It's dangerous! You're going to get yourself hurt one day."
Yoongi chuckled, glancing up at me with a grin. "I think she's just excited to see me."
He ruffled Wacha's fur gently, and the cat immediately flopped onto her back, purring contentedly, her tiny paws in the air.
I couldn't help but laugh softly. "You're not helping, Yoongi. You're spoiling her"
He gave me a mischievous look, his eyes softening as he continued to gently pet Wacha. "I haven't seen her in two nights, Y/N. We've been spending time at my place, I think she missed me."
Wacha gave a particularly loud purr, as if to confirm Yoongi's words, and I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms. "I swear, you two are going to have me worried. She's going to expect you to come over and spoil her every day now."
Yoongi simply chuckled, lowering his face to kiss the top of her head, his lips brushing against the soft fur.
Wacha looked up at him, almost as if in approval, before letting out a contented mew and curling up comfortably in his lap, practically claiming him for herself.
I watched the scene in front of me, my heart swelling a little at how easily Yoongi slipped into this little routine with Wacha.
It was moments like these that made me realize how naturally everything was unfolding between us.
It felt so right.
Yoongi glanced up at me, his face lit with a playful smile. "What? She's cute. I'm just giving her some attention."
He gave Wacha one last cuddle before she flopped off his lap, now sprawled across the couch, looking completely at peace.
I shook my head, trying to hide the smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "Just don't get her too used to it, alright?"
Yoongi stood up, brushing wacha's fur off his lap as he straightened up, his gaze lingering on me for a moment before he smirked. "Don't worry, I'll be on my best behavior."
I eyed him with a knowing look as I grabbed my purse and moved toward the door. "I'm not so sure about that," I teased.
"But let's go. Taehyung's waiting for us."
Yoongi followed me out, the familiar quiet energy between us settling back in as we made our way to the car.
He gave Wacha one last glance as we left, and I could almost hear his unspoken thoughts.
She had won him over completely.
As we stepped outside and climbed into Yoongi's car, the comfort of his presence beside me instantly calmed my nerves again.
Taehyung's excitement was contagious, and I couldn't help but feel a flutter of anticipation.
