I glanced at Yoongi, raising an eyebrow. He was already looking at my phone with the same curiosity that mirrored mine.
He didn't say anything, but I could tell he was as intrigued as I was.
I swiped open the notification.
One of your soulmates has just been activated.
My breath caught in my throat. I froze for a moment, unsure if what I was reading was real.
The soft clinking of our dinner plates faded into the background as we both turned our attention to the phone on the table, the LoveMap notification glowing brightly on the screen.
Yoongi's eyes caught mine, and a subtle, unspoken understanding passed between us.
This was it.
One of our soulmates was ready.
We had talked about this, more times than I could count.
We'd discussed it with curiosity, trepidation, and excitement-what would it mean to meet someone who was part of this strange, beautiful web of soulmates?
Yoongi's hand moved to mine across the table, his touch grounding me in the moment.
"We're ready for this," he said, his voice low but filled with a quiet confidence.
"We've known it was coming, and it's... it's time."
I nodded, squeezing his hand, feeling the warmth of his fingers wrap around mine. "We're in this together, Yoongi. If one of our soulmates is ready, then I want to be open to them, too."
Yoongi's gaze softened, his expression tender but full of understanding.
"Exactly. I think it's only fair. If they're meant to be part of this connection, they deserves to be as happy as we are."
A smile tugged at my lips, the reassurance in his voice lifting the last lingering doubts I hadn't realized I had.
We have learned to be open about our feelings, about our commitment to each other and the potential for others to enter our lives.
This was part of it-part of something bigger.
We were ready to share what we had, and to welcome the new pieces of our journey.
I reached for the phone, my fingers hovering over the screen as another notification comes up.
Explore your bonds and start your journey of shared connection.
It was the same message, the same sense of anticipation that had filled the room when our profiles had first been connected.
But now, there was no hesitation
.
No nerves.
Just the quiet certainty that we were ready to meet the next part of our shared path.
The app opened, revealing five empty profiles-five gray silhouettes-and then three green ones.
Ours, naturally, stood out in vibrant color.
Yoongi's and mine were front and center, but now, there was another.
A new profile-activated and glowing green.
I blinked at the profile and then at Yoongi.
His fingers slid across the phone screen to open the new profile.
Yoongi's breath hitched as we both read the name. "It's not him... it's not the guy we met at the restaurant. And it's not Kim Namjoon."
I could feel my heart beat a little faster, but not with anxiety, just curiosity.
