For a second, we stood there, inches apart, neither of us moving.
The tension between us was so thick I could almost taste it.
"What if someone catches us?" I asked, my voice a little breathless.
Yoongi's gaze softened, and his arms remained around me, holding me steady. "Let them. I'm tired of hiding how I feel about you."
His words hit me like a wave, crashing over me. it made my heart race even faster.
But just as quickly as the moment passed, we heard footsteps approaching from behind us. Jae and Yeona had come over, clearly coming to investigate the situation.
"Everything okay?" Yeona asked, an eyebrow raised as she looked between the two of us.
I quickly straightened up and cleared my throat, trying to mask the fact that we'd just shared a very intimate moment. "Yeah, fine," I said quickly, glancing at Yoongi to make sure he was okay.
He gave me a subtle nod, his expression neutral, though I could see the faint smile playing at the corners of his lips.
Jae looked at the two of us, then glanced at Yeona. "You two seem... very friendly today," he said with a teasing grin, clearly picking up on the atmosphere.
"Just working, Jae," Yoongi said, his tone smooth as he straightened up and cleared his throat, all traces of intimacy gone in an instant. "Nothing out of the ordinary."
Yeona raised an eyebrow but didn't push. "Uh-huh," she said, clearly unconvinced. "Well, if you're sure..."
I shot Yoongi a look, one that said we needed to cool it for a while. His smile softened, though his eyes betrayed his own amusement at how close we had come to being caught.
"Yeah," I said, trying to play it cool. "We're fine. Just trying to get some work done."
Yeona wasn't convinced, but she didn't say anything more.
Jae gave me one last look before turning back to his computer, and with a final, lingering glance at us, Yeona followed.
The moment they were gone, Yoongi's smirk returned, and I couldn't help but laugh. "We're definitely living on the edge now."
He chuckled softly, his eyes glinting with mischief. "I like it. Makes things more fun, don't you think?"
"More risky, you mean," I teased, shaking my head, though the excitement in my chest told me he was right.
"Well, the best things always are," he said, leaning in close enough for me to feel his breath on my skin again.
But before we could continue, we heard the sound of approaching footsteps once more-this time, a little too close.
Yeona.
And she had that look in her eyes. She'd seen us hold hands, or at least, she was starting to put the pieces together.
Yoongi quickly pulled away, adjusting his shirt, and I straightened up, trying to act as normal as possible.
"You guys are too suspicious" Yeona called out from across the room with a teasing grin, clearly knowing something was going on.

The hum of the server room was a constant in the background as I leaned back against the cool metal paneling, lost in the comfortable silence that seemed to envelop Yoongi and me.
