Chapter 10: A Project With A Purpose

Start from the beginning

Later that afternoon, Ha Eun came back from her meeting with the Speak Yourself Foundation. I could tell the moment she walked in-her face practically glowing with excitement.

"Okay, spill it," Jae said, raising an eyebrow as he glanced up from his laptop. "How'd the meeting go? Did they love the idea?"

Ha Eun took a seat, still beaming. "Loved it? They were obsessed with it. You wouldn't believe how passionate they are about this collaboration. The team is so on board, it's honestly contagious." She paused, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "And get this-even the CEO was there."

I sat up straighter, intrigued. The CEO? I hadn't heard much about him, but from what Ha Eun had said in passing, he was someone who was deeply involved with the foundation. "What's he like?" I asked, curiosity creeping into my voice.

Ha Eun couldn't help but grin, leaning in as if sharing a juicy secret. "Oh, Y/N. He's not just passionate-he's intense about the mission. He wasn't just sitting there taking notes-he was actively throwing out ideas for the event, brainstorming with the team, leading the discussion. And I mean, this guy is hands-on in every sense of the word."

I could sense a hint of admiration in Ha Eun's voice, but then she gave a dramatic sigh, rolling her eyes as if trying to shake off an overwhelming thought. "And don't get me started on how gut-wrenchingly attractive he is."

She leaned back in the chair, half-shutting her eyes as she recalled the meeting. "Honestly, if I wasn't so professionally focused and in love with my soulmate and kids at home, I might've passed out right there. I was blushing from head to toe. It was ridiculous."

The entire room burst into laughter.

"Ha Eun, you sound like a teenager with a crush!" Jae teased, giving her a playful wink. "Did he ask for your number too? Maybe a date after the event?"

Ha Eun rolled her eyes dramatically. "Shut up, Jae. I'm a professional. And an in love mother of two"

"Uh-huh," Yoongi said, his usual cool demeanor cracking slightly as he smirked at Ha Eun. "We all believe you. A very professional blush from head to toe."

I couldn't help but laugh along with them, but a part of me was genuinely intrigued.

Who could this CEO be, someone who commanded that kind of passion and attention from everyone in the room?

From what Ha Eun was saying, it wasn't just about his looks-this guy was hands-on, deeply involved in the work. He was the kind of leader who didn't sit back and just issue commands.

He was right there, working side by side with the team, pitching ideas for the event like it was his own personal mission.

"I think you've all made it pretty clear who the real distraction is in this partnership," I teased, still smiling as I turned to Ha Eun.

"But, seriously, it sounds like he's incredibly passionate about this. I'm impressed. Someone who's that involved can't be just a figurehead. I'm curious to see what he's really like when we all meet him."

Ha Eun nodded, her smile still lingering. "He's definitely not just a figurehead. He's hands-on, committed, and he's really pushing the foundation to grow. The whole team is excited. You should've seen how they lit up when they were talking about the event-everyone's been brainstorming, getting creative with the theme, the goals... It's going to be big, Y/N. Really big."

The energy in the boardroom shifted as the conversation moved back to the task at hand. We were all getting into the final stretches of preparation. There was so much to do, but the collective enthusiasm kept us all going.

"Alright, let's get back to it," I said, glancing around the table. "We've got a lot of work to do in the next few weeks. The event and feature rollout have to go off without a hitch. Ha Eun, I know you'll make sure the marketing team stays on top of the press and influencers. Jae, make sure the wireframes are ready and the UX/UI design is on point-smooth user experience is key. And Yoongi, once Jae's done, we need to run everything through security. We can't afford any slip-ups."

Yoongi, as always, gave a short nod, his sharp gaze focused on the task. "I'm on it. We'll make sure everything's locked down tight."

Jae leaned back, hands behind his head. "Don't worry, we'll have this app looking flawless. Trust me."

I nodded, feeling a swell of confidence in the team. "Good. We need everything ready for the big day. The Speak Yourself Foundation is already on board, and now it's up to us to make this event something people won't forget."

The weeks continued as we dove deeper into the final preparations, but my mind kept circling back to Ha Eun's description of the CEO.

The way she spoke about him, so impressed by his hands-on approach and his passion for the cause-there was something magnetic about him.

I found myself wondering who this mysterious figure could be, and why I felt so drawn to the idea of meeting him in person.

As the day went on, the energy in the room only grew more focused, more determined. We were all in this together now-working side by side to make the Purple Hope Project something real, something that could change lives. And, maybe, just maybe, I'd get the chance to meet this enigmatic CEO and see for myself what made him such a force to be reckoned with.

The countdown to the event was on, and the pieces were falling into place.

But I couldn't shake the thought that meeting him might be more than just a business transaction.

It felt like there was more to this partnership than I could see, and I was more curious than ever to find out what that was.
