Instead, I just shrugged awkwardly and muttered, "Uh, nothing, really. I just need some air," before quickly heading out to the break room.
Yeona watched me leave with a smirk on her face, and Jae, looking between her and the direction I had gone, raised an eyebrow.
“So... what happened to her?” Jae asked, his tone teasing.
Yeona smirked, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “I think I know exactly what happened.”
Jae leaned in, clearly intrigued. “What? What happened? Spill the tea, girl!”
Yeona chuckled, pointing towards the door. “Didn't we just walk by Suga just now, he came from this direction you know. And knowing how things have been between those two lately…”
Jae’s face lit up with understanding, and before Yeona could even finish, he high-fived her. “Oh la la la la loveeee,” he teased.

Over the next few days, things between Yoongi and I fell into an almost comfortable rhythm, the tension still lingering but no longer as suffocating.
Our exchanges were flirtatious but playful now, the challenge and chase still there, but there was a sense of ease between us.
And then, one afternoon, Yoongi caught me just as I was about to leave for the day.
He leaned against the doorframe of the office, arms crossed, looking more relaxed than I had seen him in days.
“So,” he said, his voice a bit more casual now as he walks toward my desk. “I’ve been thinking.”
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Oh yeah? About what?”
“About that dinner you promised me.” he said with a smile
I bit my lip, pretending to be unsure. “Hmm... Did I promise that?”
Yoongi stepped closer, his expression serious for a moment before a playful glint returned to his eyes. “Why? Are you scared?”
I smiled, feeling a flutter in my chest. “Alright, Yoongi. You’ve got yourself a date. But don’t expect me to make it easy on you.”
He smirked, leaning in just slightly. “Wouldn’t have it any other way.”
And as he walked away, the butterflies in my stomach didn’t go away. They were only just beginning.
By the time the evening of our dinner arrived, the anticipation between us was palpable.
There was no longer any question about whether or not this was something worth pursuing—because it had already begun.
A casual dinner wasn’t anything too fancy, but I knew that this time it wasn’t just about the meal.
It was about the two of us—two people who were still figuring out what it meant to be in each other’s lives.
I had managed to make it on time, which I considered a small victory considering my usual track record of showing up late.
The doorbell rang as I looked up and straightened, taking a deep breath.
It was Yoongi.
Again, the moment of nervousness took over, my stomach fluttering as I opened the door.
There he was.
