We were no longer dancing around the tension, but leaning into it—playfully testing each other.
That afternoon, as the office began to empty out for the evening, I stayed behind to finish up some work.
I was so absorbed in the new wireframes sent by the design team for the app refresh we were working at that I didn’t even hear the door to the back office open.
It wasn’t until I felt his presence, looming over me, that I looked up.
Yoongi was standing just a few feet away, his gaze steady, and there was a certain tension in the air that I couldn’t ignore.
He wasn’t smiling.
He wasn’t teasing.
He was... waiting.
My heart skipped a beat, and I stood up slowly, instinctively stepping back.
“Yoongi?” I asked, my voice a little breathless. “What are you still doing here?”
Without a word, he moved closer, his body blocking the small office space, pinning me against the desk.
His eyes locked onto mine, dark and intense. I could feel the heat of his body radiating off him, and for a moment, it felt like the world had narrowed down to just him and me.
“You think you can keep teasing me, huh?” His voice was a low whisper, sending shivers down my spine. “I’ve been patient, Y/N. But you’re pushing your luck.”
I opened my mouth to say something, but before I could, Yoongi leaned in, so close that I could feel his breath on my skin.
He looked like he was about to kiss me—his lips almost brushing against mine, my pulse racing in anticipation.
But instead, he whispered in a voice so quiet it was almost a growl, “I don’t think you’re ready for me yet, kitten.”
And then, just as quickly, he kissed the side of my neck, right below my earlobe, his lips soft but leaving a trail of heat in their wake.
It was almost as if he knew exactly what he was doing to me, watching the way I shivered in response.
Without saying another word, he straightened up, his eyes dark with unspoken intent.
He stepped back, his movements deliberate, and without looking back at me, he turned and walked out of the room, leaving me breathless, flustered, and completely shaken.
My face was bright red as I stood there, trying to catch my breath. I muttered to myself in a daze,
"Abort mission... abort mission... What the hell did I just get myself into? That’s what you get, Y/N. Challenging him like that. What were you thinking?"
As I made my way back to my desk still trying to compose myself, I walked straight into Yeona and Jae who were getting a few documents from their desks.
I could feel their eyes on me as I stood there, flustered and still trying to catch my breath.
“Y/N?” Yeona asked, her voice laced with concern but also a hint of curiosity. “You okay? You look like you just saw a ghost.”
I stammered, trying to come up with an excuse. "Oh, uh, yeah... just... you know... tired. Long day.”
Yeona raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "You sure? Because you’re redder than a tomato."
Before I could respond, Jae stepped forward, looking at me with an amused expression. “Why, what did you do?”
I could feel the heat of embarrassment on my cheeks as I opened my mouth to respond, but no words came out.
