His eyes gleamed just before he left, like he was sharing some private joke with the universe, and I was the punchline.
I stood there for a few more seconds, trying to push away the uneasy sensation clinging to me, but it wasn't easy.
Focus, I told myself. There's no point in thinking too much about this. I wasn't going to get lost in whatever that moment had been. Not now.
I turned back toward Y/N, who was still at the table, her eyes now glued to her phone.
The sight of her calmed me almost immediately, but something about the encounter with that guy still had me on edge.
When I sat back down, Y/N's gaze shifted up, meeting mine. She raised an eyebrow, clearly sensing something was off.
"Everything okay?" she asked, her voice soft, like she was trying to get past whatever wall I'd just put up.
I ran a hand through my hair and let out a quiet sigh. "Yeah, everything's fine." My words came out a little too quickly. "It's just... the AC. Getting a bit chilly in here."
Y/N tilted her head slightly, like she wasn't fully convinced.
I could tell she was picking up on the fact that something was off, but she didn't press me. She knew when to let things go, and right now, she probably sensed I didn't want to talk about it.
I looked down for a second, trying to push away the unease. When I met her eyes again, I smiled lightly. "Really, it's nothing. Just... no big deal."
She paused for a moment longer, her gaze softening. "Okay," she said quietly, "if you say so." She didn't seem fully convinced, but she let it go-for now.
I nodded, but still feeling the pull of that strange encounter hanging over me.
"That guy..." my voice trailing off as I tried to organize my thoughts.
"Did you... feel something? Like a weird energy in the air when he looked at us?"

Y/N blinked, surprised by his words.
She hadn't meant to admit it, but she had definitely felt something-like the flicker of a spark that shouldn't have been there.
She hesitated before answering, her voice quiet, almost unsure. "Yeah... I felt it, too. Like... I don't know. Maybe it's crazy, but it was like... a connection of sorts?"
Yoongi leaned back in his chair, running a hand over his face. "I don't know what it was, but something about him... it felt like I was supposed to know him, or like he was supposed to be there."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat at the thought.
Soulmate.
The word had felt so heavy before, so overwhelming, but now, it seemed to sit more naturally in her chest.
They both knew what it felt like to have something between them that went beyond coincidence.
Something that wasn't fully explainable, but undeniable.
"Do you think... that's how polyamory works?" Y/N asked softly, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
Yoongi let out a thoughtful sigh, his brow furrowing.
"I don't know. It's not like we've never talked about it, but I... well, I don't know how I feel about it yet. It's just so new, and I can barely process what's happening between us. But with him? and maybe a few others..." He paused, shaking his head slightly.
"I'm not sure what to make of it. But.. Yeah that....It doesn't seem like a coincidence."
As the silence stretched on, both of them distracted by their thoughts, the sudden ping of the app broke their reverie.
