“Well, I’ll be surprised if it didn’t. You hit like a man, you know.”

She pulled him towards a nearby bench and made him sit down. “Hold your head up and put this on your nose.” Reika pushed him her handkerchief. “Where can I get ice in here? Breathe through your nose and pinch it a little. Does it hurt?” She was starting to panic.

“Calm down, Reika. I’m fine. It’s nothing serious.”

“But you’re bleeding!”

“I told you, it’s nothing serious.” He looked sideways at her.

“Do you need anything? I’ll try to find a convenience store around here.” She stood up. “Maybe I can buy some medicine or something or ---“

Kyuhyun held her hand. “It’s alright. Just stay here. It’s dangerous to go alone. I can manage, I’m not a wimp.”

Reika sat down beside him again. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t expect it to be you. Wait, why are you here anyway?! I’m miles away from Seoul. Don’t tell me you followed me here?! Are you stalking me or something?”

Kyuhyun looked away. “Don’t get the wrong idea. I was just bored and decided to drive to Mokpo.” She looked at him skeptically. “Okay. Fine. I followed you here. But I’m not stalking you. When I got my car, I saw you driving away so I tailed behind you. I was just worried that you might so something drastic.”

Reika didn’t know what to say. He was worried for her? She noticed he was still holding her hand so she tried to pull it away but he didn’t let go. “My hand, please?”

“Later. You might run off somewhere. I can’t risk it.”

“I won’t do anything, okay? I’m not that pathetic. Why are you worried, anyway? Because you thought I was hurt with what happened earlier? Don’t worry, it was nothing to me.”

“It’s not about that.” Reika got surprised. “I thought you got lonely because I left you alone there.”

Her ears flamed with what she heard. “What are you talking about?!” And she saw him trying to hold back his laugh. He was messing with her! Reika glared at him. “You better stop teasing me if you don’t want me to break your neck next.”

Kyuhyun chuckled. “You look cute when you’re teased.” He looked at her. “About Donghae hyung earlier, I talked to him and he said --- “

“Just save it, Cho Kyuhyun. I don’t need that right now.” She snapped at him.

“Then why are you here? This is where you grew up with hyung, right?”

“Yeah.” Reika looked up at the sky. There were a few stars. “I don’t know. I just felt like coming to where it all started. Maybe I’m becoming a masochist.”

“I don’t think so. With the way you hit me, you’re fit to be a sadist.”

“Shut up. I thought you were some bad guy so I put on my guard. Times like these, we need to be wary.”

There was a moment of silence. And Kyuhyun was still holding her hand, while his other hand is dabbing the hanky on his nose. Reika found it strange that she didn’t mind.

“I’m not teasing or anything.” Kyuhyun broke the silence first. “But I’m really curious. So if it’s okay…” He glanced at her.

Reika raised an eyebrow. “What?”

“Well, we’re here where it all started and I think I’m involved now with whatever’s going on between you and Donghae.. so do you mind telling me about your history with him?”

“Of course I mind.” Reika saw his shoulders drop. “But since I’m here to reminisce things, I might as well talk about it with someone.”

“So.. how did you two meet? Was it the typical boy-meets-girl vice versa then boy-likes-girl vice versa then they lived happily ever after?” He said while smirking.

“That’s so stupid. Happily ever after? Seriously, you think this is our happily ever after?” She scoffed.

“Well, with your twisted personality, I might as well think this is happy – Aww!” He didn’t get to finish what he was saying because she already slapped his arm.

“Quit it, Cho Kyuhyun. Do you want to hear my story or not?”

“Fine, fine. It’s rare for you to talk to me for more than three sentences so I might as well enjoy this moment.”

She sighed. “It’s not the typical boy-meets-girl and they started to like each other. That’s too cliché. But maybe you would say ours was a bit cliché, too.” She glanced at him to see if he was making fun of her but she was glad to see he was listening attentively. “You see, I was a loner when I was young. I didn’t have friends. Then, he came. He didn’t start off as my friend. He was my hero first.” And she looked back at the day when she met Lee Donghae.
