Chapter 10

Lucy's pov
'Disgusting body' 'you know you want this' 'shut it' 'you know you want to be pregnant with my child' 'my wedding day' 'good girl' 'lazy bitch' 'fuck' 'the sounds of our skins colliding' 'his breathing in my ear' 'I've got a hold of you your whole life' 'cutting' 'washed out' my legs hurt, my vagina hurts, my neck hurts, my mouth hurts.
"Boot!" I hear as i snap back to reality, I look to my right and see Tim stood outside my car.
Fuck.
I get out of the car shutting the door.
"I shouted you twice do you think it's okay to ignore your TO" he snaps.
I flinch back towards the car, I shake my head. "No sir sorry sir" I say kind of breathlessly.
I walk past him and head into the lockers, I put my stuff away and as I do I hear my phone vibrate. I quickly look.
-2 new messages from Chris-
-round two tonight need to make sure we have our perfect future.
-cutting
I feel sick. I can't do it again. No I can't. I can't do this. I'm still sore from last night.
I know what he means by the word cutting. He's said that so I don't go run and tell someone right now, he's not wrong it's working.
I put my phone back into my pocket and i walk towards rollcall.
I notice Angela and Nyla sat together, Tim is in his office and Grey is in his.
I walk towards Greys office and gently knock.
"Officer Chen come in" he says he gesturing me to enter.
"How can I help?" He asks.
"I erm.. was wondering if I could have a different TO sir?" I say nervously.
"Is there a reason you are unable to work with your current TO sergeant Bradford?"
Just the fact that the person I'm suppose to be marrying thinks I'm sleeping with him even though I'm not, Tim is too smart and is going to figure out that Chris is abusing me.. and r..raping me..then you'll loose your TO as he will go roque. Not only that Tim knows I can't lie to him.
Oh and the fact that every time I walk near Tim I get punished for it when I get home.
"I just think i would learn better from someone else sir" i reply back.
Now that was a complete lie, i had learned a lot from Tim, I can't deny that.
"Very well, I shall move you to work with detective Angela Lopez. She believes you'll make a great detective after the other day so this will definitely help you in the future"
I don't think Chris particularly likes her either after she stared at us the other day but surely it's got to be better than working with Tim.
"Thank you sir" I say as we both walk to the roll call room.
I've no idea what Grey said during the whole roll call, all I could think about was last night and what's going to happen tonight. It wasn't till
"Officer Chen you're riding with Detective Lopez, Sergeant Bradford you're riding alone"
That I snap back to reality.
I notice Tim looking at me but I ignore him. I walk straight past him and go to Angela.
"You ready girl?" Angela says and I just nod and head to the shop. She doesn't come straight away buts fine the less time I have to spend with her the better as I know how good of a detective she is.

Tim's pov
I get to the station and notice that Lucy's here early, I'm hoping that she's ready to some training beige rollcall and I can check in on her.
Maybe she will be in a better mood and I can try sort our differences as the tension when we're riding together is high.
Id never admit that we was friends but I secretly knew we was. The way we spoke, the way she knew how to press my buttons just enough, the confidence to tell me when I'm wrong yet respectfully. The banter we used to have.
As I walk up to her car I notice that she's sat there staring straight ahead..her eyes focused on the wall in front, her eyes are glossy almost.
She looks exhausted but hey it was their engagement so it was probably a long night.
I don't know why I feel so protective of her, why her being with Chris makes me almost jealous.
I didn't have feelings for her I couldn't. I was her TO. Maybe it's because of when I pulled her from that barrel and brought her back.
"Boot!" I shout. No reply.
"Boot!" I shout again.
She suddenly looks at me almost scared but I probably just made her jump.
She gets out of the car, shutting the door behind her.
"I shouted you twice do you think it's okay to ignore your TO" i snap at her, her face immediately goes drip white almost like she's seen a ghost. She flinched back hitting the car with her body as she steps back.
I've never seen her like this, it's not the first time she's been flinchy, maybe she's tired.
She shakes her gently, but almost panicking.
"No sir sorry sir" she says breathlessly as she's trying to calm herself down.
Before I can even say another word she puts her head down and walks into the station, directly into the locker rooms.
I'll talk to her when we get to the shop.
I walk into the station and as i walk past the lockers I see that she's looking at her phone, again the colour drips from her face.
I go into my office thinking she will come in on her way round like normally does as it will be easier to talk in there than right now.
Constantly watching for her to come in but she walks down with her head slightly low and goes into Greys office.
Maybe whatever is bothering her she's going to tell him, at least she's telling someone.
I go into roll call, i sit with Angela and Nyla as usual, watching as Grey and Lucy walk back in.
The thing that confused me was when Grey said I was riding alone and Lucy to ride with Angela.
We both kind of look at each to her confused, I look over towards Lucy. She glances over at me for a second before immediately turning her head back towards Grey.
She gets up and walks towards us.
"You ready girl?" Angela says to her, she just nods her head and heads off.
"What did you do Tim?" Angela says rolling her eyes.
"I haven't done anything! I swear"
"Right okay I'll see how she is" Angela says walking off.
I immediately walk up to Grey.
"Is there an issue with Officer Chen sir?" I ask him.
"No she just felt as though she'd learn better from another TO" he says.
"Right.." I say almost pulling a face.
"Out with it Tim" he says.
"I don't know anything but something's not right with Chen, it hasn't been for a while but the last few days especially this morning."
"She's a rookie, it will be the stress of it all you know it goes"
"Yeah she can handle it. It's not that. I just can't put my finger on it"
"Look, I can't do anything off a hunch but I'll check in with Lopez after shift and see what she says"
"Thank you sir"
