XIV. ATHENAS SANCTUARY

"IT'S 630 feet wide, 630 feet tall, both to within an inch. It's got no internal support. Each side is balanced perfectly against the other. The arch is held up by symmetry. It's held up by math."

They all looked up at the arch which was really Athena's sanctuary.

Once they were inside, Annabeth continued, "And it's earthquake-proof. So Poseidon can't ruin it."

Percy nodded, "Nice."

They made their way to the front passing people who were taking pictures.

Annabeth pushed through some people to get to the monument, "This is how you show Athena your love. A monument to the power of protection."

Grover explained, "It's a monument to some other stuff, too."

They looked at some manmade historic inventions that were on display.

Annabeth sighed, "You're talking about what some humans want this place to be about. I'm talking about what it actually is."

Grover looked away, "Whatever. We're safe here, right?"

Annabeth nodded, "No monsters can enter. Not even Echidna. We're safe."

Grover sighed turning around to face them, "Great. Well, since our train exploded, i'm gonna see if there's another in we can get tickets on. We can't stay here forever."

Grover looked up at a picture of hunters praying on horses, "Just because we're prey doesn't mean we need to be helpless."

He walked away leaving Percy, Lacy, and Annabeth staring at him.

Percy looked at the girls, "He doesn't like it when people mess with animals."

Annabeth nodded, "Yeah. I know. I shouldn't have snapped at him, i just. I know. I think i'm going to help him find a train."

She went to go help Grover now leaving Percy and Lacy alone.

Percy sighed, "So, this is Athena's place? Wonder if she's around."

Lacy shrugged.

Percy mimicked in a high british accent, "Be right down! Just going to the potty!"
