Gabriel woke up to a throbbing pain in his stomach. But he didn't mind it. He sat up slowly, biting back a grunt of pain and turned to see his wife curled up next to him still fast asleep. He instinctively ran a hand through her thick red curls to check for any sign of injury. He didn't find any thankfully but he felt a flash of rage shoot through him. Metatron was going to pay for what he had done.

"Hnnm." Eden murmured as she drifted awake.

"Edie?" Gabriel murmured softly. "You awake?"

"I think so…." Eden’s bright blue serpentine eyes blinked open rapidly. "Is this a dream? Please don't be a dream…."

"No dream." Gabriel smiled as he leaned down and kissed her lips. "I'm here."

"How are you feeling?" Eden asked as she sat up. "Do you need me to get you something?"

"I'm okay, love. It's you I'm worried about." As Gabriel replied the door opened and in came Crowley and Aziraphale.

"Don't move you two!" The angel barked, "Neither of you are leaving that bed unless I say so!"

"Sounds good to me!" Eden said as she cuddled closer to Gabriel, who giggled, his face reddening. Crowley normally would have frowned at their display of affection but he couldn't help but smile at his daughter acting like her normal self.

After Aziraphale was satisfied with his examination of his patients he left to make everyone breakfast.

"So you left the kids with Newt and Anathema." Eden pondered. "Shadwell won't like that."

"We were in a hurry." Crowley said. "Your Archangel didn't want to waste any time, ya know."

"Oh I can imagine." Eden replied lovingly.

"He's going to come back ya know." Crow said as Aziraphale busied himself in the small kitchenette. Azira was helping since Aziraphale looked a little lost. It was strange. The kitchenette was the same as the one back home but it felt so strange. The smells were different yet familiar at the same time. The dishware and cutlery was different yet the same too….and Eden wasn’t there. Back home he and Crowley visited nearly everyday and he and Eden always cooked together. Crowley and Gabriel helped of course but Eden was his assistant, his helper….and at times he felt so lost without her…..

"The barrier should keep him out." Crowley said as he joined the group in the kitchenette. Gabriel and Eden clearly wanted to be left alone and he was fine with that.

"That's just it though." Crow replied. "Metatron now knows that holy bullets won't break the barrier so he'll try something else. You know how powerful he is. Next time he won't leave without breaking the barrier." Crow didn't need to say the most frightening part out loud. Metatron wouldn't leave without the Book of Life and he would kill anyone who got in his way.

"Then we wait for him." Eden said as she stepped into the kitchenette. "And meet him head on."

"Little One!" Aziraphale exclaimed, "You should be in bed!"

"I'm fine Papa." Eden said as Aziraphale and Crowley rushed to her and looked her over. Her clothes were wrinkled and she still looked pale. But despite that, her blue eyes glinted with a knowing look in her eyes. The fathers couldn't help but smile at the sight of Eden’s wild red curls with her tartan bow barrette in its proper place. It gave them a sense of normalcy.

"I tried to talk her out of it." Gabriel said as he stood by her. "But she did remove the Book from her aura." Gabriel was holding the leather-bound tome in his hands.

Eden nodded, "I got my strength back, and Gabriel is okay now too. We have a chance now."

"I think that’s unwise." Azira said. "He needs a few days of rest before-"

"I'm not letting Edie face that scumbag alone." Gabriel replied sternly. "Not again."

"Well, then we better come up with a plan."
