Muriel had been diligently filling out her paperwork for the day, but not just any paperwork, it was their time off request form. They hadn't seen their, well, very special friend, Eric, in ages and Muriel was even considering retirement. It would be nice to just focus on normal pleasures like reading and just spending time with Eric and Hester…..
Muriel jumped at the sound of a shrill alarm going off. Metatron was summoning them.
Muriel sighed. They would have to finish their paperwork later…..
"Ah, Muriel." Metatron greeted with a strange smile on his face. "I'm sorry to bother you at this hour but I need you to fill out these forms for me. Concerning the incident regarding the permanent discorporation of Satan. I would do it myself but I have my own stack to fill out. I thought we could split them to make it a bit easier. I wouldn't trust anyone else with this other than you my dear."
Muriel didn't know how long it took to finish the stack of papers but they practically ran to their office door when they finally finished, only to gasp in shock when the knob wouldn't budge.
It was locked.
