Qixi's mind was filled with wild thoughts throughout the night, and as a result, she couldn't sleep well.

The next morning, with dark circles under her eyes, Qixi headed out, only to find Gu Yan waiting at the door, looking energetic as if he had already been out. He seemed slightly out of breath, as if he had just run, and before Qixi could say anything, he handed her something.

As always, Gu Yan was economical with his words. "Breakfast," he said.

Qixi held the warm eel rice ball in her hand and felt a warm and tender sensation welling up inside her.

Gu Yan had never bought breakfast for any other female classmate.

Qixi looked at the rice ball in her hand—it was her favorite eel rice ball.

Her heart was filled with a mix of nervousness, excitement, and a hint of a bittersweet, fizzy feeling. It bubbled up inside her.

Although Gu Yan had a white moonlight in his life, that moonlight didn't love him back, so sooner or later, Gu Yan would have to let go. And she was constantly around Gu Yan, could it be that unconsciously, Gu Yan was gradually developing feelings for her?

The sudden bold idea startled Qixi, and her emotions surged like the tides, repeatedly and tangled.

Could it be that Gu Yan really...?

As Qixi recalled the subtle signs of their interactions, the more she thought about it, the more confusing and bewildering it became.

Qixi looked at Gu Yan's face, which was so close that it was within reach. And whether it was a coincidence or not, Gu Yan's gaze swept over Qixi, and their eyes briefly met in the air. In that instant, Qixi suddenly felt a rush of heat in her head, as if Gu Yan's gaze had a tangible touch, brushing past her like an elusive breeze.

Gu Yan had already averted his gaze, and Qixi lowered her head to look at the ground, but the lingering sensation from their eye contact remained.

The wind itself may not have any other intentions, but the person being blown by the wind interprets it differently—does it want to stay? Or does it want to remain elusive forever?

Qixi felt that her heart had become like a wheat field blown by the wind. The wind made no sound, yet every stalk of wheat it touched emitted its own voice. These small sounds mixed together and turned into a natural symphony of notes that even the owner of the wheat field couldn't untangle.

From Qixi's perspective, she could see Gu Yan's fair wrist hanging at his side, along with a small black mole on it. She could see his straight trouser legs, and as her gaze traveled upwards, she saw Gu Yan's face, which was not one to easily smile but still inspired others to follow.

Holding the rice ball, Qixi didn't know what Gu Yan was thinking. She felt nervous, thinking she should say something, but before she could utter a safe thank you, she heard Gu Yan casually say, "..."

"I bought it conveniently during my morning run to meet the minimum purchase for the discount," Gu Yan explained.

"..."

Gu Yan glanced at Qixi again, then averted his gaze and cleared his throat, saying awkwardly, "It's just an extra, I'm giving it to you, don't waste it."

"..."

Although Qixi didn't know when Gu Yan started his morning running habit, she thought he should reconsider next time.

Qixi, venting her frustration, took a bite of the rice ball and wondered if she was overthinking things. Amidst her complex and uneasy yet thrilling emotions, she followed Gu Yan into the elevator.
