BEEP!

Fuck this.

BE-

Jenna smacked her alarm in anger. She hadn't gotten much sleep due to the stress of the previous night's encounters. She begrudgingly got out of bed and headed straight to the shower. She finished it in about 5 minutes and got dressed for school. She wasn't looking forward to the day to come. Alice decided that they should dress up as Fred and Daphne from Scooby Doo for the Halloween party, and she agreed. She didn't have anyone to match with anyways, so why not? But for the school day, she put on an Eagles band t-shirt, a basic pair of jeans, and the jacket from Steve. The plan for the day was to get through school, come home to change, walk to the party, hang out with friends and get drunk. How hard could that be?

"Lookin' good, Dusty," She complimented her brother, "I love the Ghostbusters get up."
"Thank, Jen," He smiled at her, "The boys have matching costumes."
"Cool, cool. You're wearing that to school?"
"Yeah, people still dress up."
"Alright, suit yourself."
Before Jenna could get out the door to her car, her mom started yelling, "Oh, Dusty! Come here! I need pictures!"
Oh, great. Better leave before this shit starts.
Jenna shimmied out the door before her dear mother would notice. She hopped in the car and started blasting Walk This Way by: Aerosmith.
Such a lovely way to start my morning.

Right as Jenna got out of the car, Alice jumped on her back and hugged her.
"Ready to be my date tonight, Daphne?" Alice asked Jenna.
"Oh, definitely," Jenna responded and smiled over her shoulder at her friend.
Alice grabbed Jenna's face and gave her a big kiss on the cheek.
"What was that for?" Jenna asked while laughing and wiping her cheek.
"To get us in character," Alice elaborated.
"Come on, let's get to class."
"Whatever you say, Jelly Belly."

The two walked down the hall together with linked elbows towards Calculus. They were only a few feet from the door when Billy walked over and rested his elbow on one of the lockers near them.
"So," He started while smirking at Jenna, "You gonna be at the party later tonight, Sweet cakes?"
"None of your business. And stop calling me Sweet cakes, please."
"Oh, I'll never stop doing that. And it is my business because if you are, I'd like to hang out with you for a bit."
"She's already taken tonight," Alice butted in, "By me."

Billy looked between the two, put his hands up in the air in 'surrender' and said, "Fine. If you don't wanna hang, that's cool. Just wanted to throw you the offer first, Sweet cakes. You're my favorite."
He walked off with a wink into the Calc room where Jenna and Alice had to follow.
"Thanks, Alice," Jenna said, "You're a lifesaver."
"Anytime," Alice smiled, "But, now we have to get through Calc with him."
"True, but at least we don't have to talk with him."
"Good point. Well, let's start math, shall we?"

Eventually, Jenna got to her study hall period which she had with Nancy and Steve in the library. The three just sat at a table working on their own notes when Nancy snapped her pencil and got up to sharpen it. Jenna looked up after about 15 seconds to see Nancy looking off in the distance and continuously sharpening her pencil more than she needed to. Jenna furrowed her eyebrows, grabbed Steve by the arm, and dragged him over to check on Nancy.
"Nance," Jenna said while grabbing her shoulder, "What's going on?"
"Are you okay?" Steve asked right after Jenna.
Nancy shook her head and the three walked into a private study room.

"I can't keep doing this," Nancy confessed.
"Doing what?" Steve asked.
"Pretending like everything's okay," She answered.
"What are you talking about?" Steve questioned.
"Barbara," Nancy whined, "It's like everyone forgot. It's like nobody cares. Except her parents. And now they're selling their house."
"Nance..." Steve started to say before Nancy cut him off.
"And now they're going to spend the rest of their lives looking for her. It's destroying them."
"I know," Steve said in an attempt to comfort his girlfriend, "I know. Okay? I get it. But listen, there's nothing we can do about it."
"Yeah, we could tell them the truth," Nancy snapped.
