Dear Selene,
I'm content with how the night has made its end.

I brushed my teeth,
I washed my face,
I changed my shirt,
I found my place.

Although it was rocky, although I had cried,
The ending has me smiling, sleepy with some peace of mind.

I was scared, I was bruised, but Jane has jazz playing through her screen.
I was worried and confused, but Jane found ideas so to lean.

Dear Selene,
I'm glad for where the night is ending.

I brushed my teeth,
I washed my face,
I changed my shirt,
I found my place.

All things simple to the mind of most and others,
I couldn't have done it without the motivating conclusion of this earthly mother.

Things are still scary, things are still bruised.
Things are still messy, things are still confused.

And yet here I am, smiling at the end of my night,
'Cause we had talked some through, a firefly of light.

Dear Selene,
Thank you for the end of tonight.
