The Pit

My heart thumps from within my chest
As thoughts of you stir themselves a pit
Not of a void or a night of fear
But a space just big enough for you to fit.
With bracelets for our distance
I continue to only think of you
A hopeless romantic at best
But all of this is true.
The night is gifting me peace now that we've met
Again and tonight, my heart will swear
That now and forever, there will be a pit
Just enough for you, forever for me to care.
With cherries to remind me of you
Soon we are to distance again
But we've created memories
That I wish to never end.

Enjoy that space in my heart, the pit you've sunken into.
The space with my moonlight, the stars that shine for you.
