The Comfort Of Her And I

Curling besides me
Is someone so small and so dear
Dark with loving eyes
And a song so sweet and so sincere.

When I move she returns
Her position may change but she never leaves
Always by my nervous side
Is someone guiding me so sweetly in my dreams.

Fragile and soft
She gives me love when I need it most
Pressed against me
She purrs kindness without needing to boast.

Sincere, to me I wonder
If she gets just as anxious as I
And that's why she's there
Never leaving, directly at my side.

In the dark I'm on my screen
Staring blankly wondering, not wanting to be an annoyance
But even when I wiggle
She brings to me of no avoidance.

With dogs at a constant bark
The others running around while she's tired
I wonder if I'm her comfort
When her brain needs some time to rewire.

Curling besides me
Is my cat so small and so dear
With green, sparkling eyes
I hold her, too, with all my live sincere.

It's dark now, past midnight
And with the dark, she's not left my side
So maybe she's afraid
Or just, warm in the comfort of her and I.
