Hey guys! This isn't a Heartbreak Weather update, though the next chapter will be coming soon, I promise!!!

It was brought to my attention by a few readers that there's an account (@/StrqngeHarrington) who has a book called 'Mirrorball', and it was "very similar" to Cross Your Mind.

I took a look at it myself, and when I tell you it's blatant plagiarism guys

I took a look at it myself, and when I tell you it's blatant plagiarism guys. Not only as the person copied Aspen's plots and relationships, but in some areas they haven't even bothered to change the wording of my exact writing. The prologue is the exact same, all the chapters are literally copied with a weak attempt to alter wording, and in places like Chapter 2 Paragraph 2, they haven't even bothered to alter the wording.

At first I oddly felt a bit flattered, to know that someone thinks my book is good enough to inspire someone else. But having looked at enough chapters, I saw it wasn't inspiration, it was a blatant violation of copyright.

I own all my work that revolves around Aspen's character, her plots, her dialogue, all of it. She's my character, I created her, and I put so much time and effort into making these books interesting for you guys so that they're not just a play by play of Teen Wolf episodes + an OC with a few lines.

It's honestly hurtful to see someone else copying her, thinking it's okay to just give them a different name and faceclaim.

They've also entirely copied the Ace plot from book 1 (how he was meant to be dead but started sending letters hinting at being alive), but they just replaced it with being a father instead. It's just so painfully obvious and it's not just harmless inspiration, it would be if it was just a few one off coincidences but it's the entire book.

Here's a list of many examples where the copyright is blatant and clear as day, too obvious to be considered a coincidence:

the prologue
chapter 2: the dialogue between their oc and jackson
chapter 6: blend in (i mean seriously, changed the title from 'blending in' to 'blend in', do better)
chapter 10: underwear
chapter 13: you owe me (completely copied the bet plot in my chapter 'you owe me twenty bucks)
chapter 14: heartache (the first paragraph is literally copy and pasted)
chapter 15: we need to talk
chapter 17: escape

(there are loads more between but I'm just listing examples of where it's literally copyright, and I've only been skimming over it)

chapter 46: pained jowl (literally read the last few lines like... wtaf)

and here's just a couple side by sides that actually made my jaw drop
