i sat, anxiously biting my pencil as i watched tilly fidget in her chair. she was going to tell me the truth, the truth that i had spent the last couple of weeks trying to find out.

this was it, the conversation that could change everything, for better or for worse....

T: so where should i start?

N: how about you and lily's relationship? was it a positive one?

T: i guess so. we got on as little kids but when we were teenagers, my mom would put a bit of pressure on me to do my best and it made me mad

N: why did it make you mad?

T: just because lily was the favourite child. she got everything handed to her on a silver platter and was always comforted if someone had upset her. my parents were always super protective about her but didn't acknowledge the fact that i was just there

N: did anything build up before lily's death? for example, was there an argument that took place?

T: ok, yeah, there was but it wasn't directed towards me. it was towards ricky and gina

N: how did she find out about them cheating?

T: i guess the monday before she died but she was still madly in love with him and never doubted him for one minute so she pushed all her feelings down but took them out onto me when she came home

N: so at the party? how did she know that she was being cheated on?

T: when ashlyn suggested that the two should do seven minutes in heaven, despite ej, her own cousin being at the party

N: ashlyn suggested it?

T: yeah, ashlyn mentioned to me briefly that gina had always had some sort of interest in ricky but didn't want to hurt ej's feelings so the two went about things differently and just never told them until news came out at the party

N: tilly, what happened to ej caswell and lily that night after they found out the truth? the truth that their own boyfriend/girlfriend had cheated on them?

T: you really want to know?

N: i'm desperate to know the truth
