Moxxie's Nightmare Part 1: Fear of Loss

Moxxie and Millie had been living together for a few years. They had had a happy wedding after a few years of dating. The couple had even found jobs as assassins for hire. But there had been trouble. Moxxie's family had always fallen upon rough times. To be honest, they had had trouble paying for the wedding, let alone a proper suit for their son. Luckily, Mille's family had helped without expecting anything in return. After all, money should be the last thing to worry about on such a happy occasion.

After a few months after the wedding, Moxxie's parents passed away. He was devastated. All his life, he had lost someone important one after another. And now his parents were gone too. Moxxie had never been the strongest of demons. He wasn't a bloodthirsty killer or super powerful like an Overlord. He was creative. He was an artist, a musician. But that didn't mean he was a pushover. He knew his way around weapons. But after so much loss, Moxxie had given up on making new friends, let alone getting into a relationship. That was until he met Millie in the fields that fateful day. For the first time, he saw a second chance to live.

Now, after losing his parents, Moxxie didn't know what to do. But he knew one thing. The possibility of losing her was another reality he had to face. After the funerals, the nightmares began. Moxxie could barely sleep anymore. It got to the point where he was unable to work. It was only fortunate that I.M.P had expanded by now. They had their own building and more employees. Blitzo granted Moxxie grievance leave. One of his new employees covered his jobs for a month. Millie also took time off to comfort her husband. She reassured him that she would always be there for him. But fear is one of the strongest emotions. And it feeds off trauma like a free buffet. Moxxie gradually returned to his old self. But the nightmares never went away.
