“Mrs Black, Kreacher has opened the front door for you. There is someone here for you.” Kreacher, Y/n’s family’s house elf said as he walked into the front room. “Thank you, Kreacher. Send them in.” Y/n replied as she was reading a book. “Good evening, Y/n.” Albus Dumbledore, her old headmaster, said as he entered the room. “Professor Dumbledore? To what do I owe this visit?” Y/n asked as she closed her book and got up, before shaking his hand. “I’ve always wondered what one of the brightest witches of Gryffindor has been up to. And I heard from Minerva that you moved into your family’s old residential house.” Albus replied. “I’ve been busy wondering what is going on with Sirius ever since he had been sent to Azkaban. But also been busy with helping Alastor whenever I can.” Y/n answered. “Ah, yes. You always have been worried about Sirius. Especially now when he broke out.” Albus said.

“Yes. I hope he won’t do anything stupid. Is there a specific reason why you are here, professor?” Y/n asked. “Yes, there is. Do you remember Professor Vector?” “Yes, she taught Arithmancy when I was in my third year.” Y/n answered. “Yes, that is correct. And she retired from the job. You were always very good at Arithmancy, always getting O’s on your owls. And I would like to offer you this position for the third year students.” Albus said. “Seriously? You are offering me the position?” Y/n asked. “Of course. I didn’t think about anyone else. Even Septima told me that she would love for you to take over her position.” Albus responded. “Okay. I will take it. Thank you for thinking of me, professor.” Y/n said. “It is not a problem, Y/n. I expect to see you in three weeks at Hogwarts. Enjoy the rest of your evening.” Albus said, with a warming smile, before he walked out of the house. A couple of weeks went by.

Y/n had been in Diagon Alley getting essentials for her class, since Minerva had sent her a letter telling her what she needed. Recently she got back to Grimmauld Place and started to pack her trunks. She left the house the next day and went to Kings Cross Station and went to platform 9 ¾. She got on the train and sat in an empty carriage. She took her book out of her bag and started to read, before two girls walked into the carriage. “Excuse me? Could we possibly sit with you? Every other carriage is full.” The girl with ginger hair said. “Of course, come and join me.” Y/n replied, with a smile. They sat down and started to talk as the train left the station. A couple of hours went by and the train suddenly stopped. “Are we at the school already, professor?” Ginny asked. “We can’t be. There’s still a whole hour left.” Y/n replied, before the train shook. “Professor? What is happening?” Luna asked. “Nothing, girls. It is okay. Everything will be fine.”

Y/n said as she locked the carriage door with the wave of her wand. “What is that?” Ginny asked as they saw a cloaked figure floating past their carriage. Once the train started to move again, Y/n unlocked the door. “I’m going to check on the other students. Don’t worry, girls. Everything’s fine now.” Y/n said, before she walked out. She walked down the corridor and talked to some students who asked her what happened, when she nearly ran into someone. “Oh, I’m so sorry that I bumped into you.” Y/n said. “It’s okay. I wasn’t looking where I was going.” The man replied, as Y/n looked up and felt a blush on her face as she recognized who she ran into. “Remus?” “Y/n? No way that it is you.” Remus said as he looked down at her. “It is. What are you doing here?” Y/n asked. “I’m the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. What about yourself?” Remus answered. “I’m the new Arithmancy professor since Professor Vector retired.” Y/n replied.

“Oh, that is fantastic. You were always marvelous at the subject.” Remus said with a warming smile. “Do you know why there was a Dementor on the train?” Y/n asked. “It was looking for Sirius.” Remus replied. “What would Sirius do on the train?” Y/n asked. “I don’t know, Y/n. At this point he could be anywhere. You haven’t heard from him ever since he escaped, right?” Remus asked. “No, of course not. But I can’t help but be worried for him.” Y/n replied. “You don’t have to be. Sirius didn’t do anything wrong. We all know that. He’ll be fine.” Remus whispered.
“How’s Harry?” Y/n asked. “Why don’t you go and ask him yourself? He’s in that carriage. I will go and speak with the train conductor.” Remus said as he smiled at her, before starting to walk to the front of the train. “Oh, Remus.” Y/n said, which made him turn around. “Yes, Y/n?” Remus asked, confused. “It is great to see you again after all these years.” She praised. “Yes, it is great to see you again as well, Y/n.” Remus responded, before he walked away. Y/n smiled to herself, before she walked to the carriage her godson, Harry was in. Over the years that the boy grew up, she occasionally sent him letters and little gifts for his birthday, since she was the only trustworthy family member he had left. She smiled as she walked in and saw the boy’s face light up as he looked up at her. “Y/n? What are you doing here?” Harry asked, a massive smile on his face to see his favorite person again after a long time. “I’m sorry, you know her?” His friend asked.
