A lot of you are probably struggling with school, work or other responsibilities but you kept being drawn back unto social media a.k.a. Wattpad.
Here are some helpful tips which I hope can motivate you in one way or another. You don't have to absolutely leave Wattpad, bombard yourself with multiple internships or go to military school to achieve utmost discipline! (^∇^)•••
• Try logging out of the app and only open them during the weekends.
I usually do so on Friday afternoon. Let's say I work from home and get to be online around 16:00 when I have nothing much to do. The only time I check my social media is during breaks or when I have important messages to check.• Set a quota for your reading list.
At least four to five books whenever you sign in. Give them a shout-out so people would know that you're already checking them out during your spare time.• Limit the duration spent on social media.
Set a timer up to an hour or two in case you start browsing aimlessly. Remind yourself what you're supposed to do. Am I supposed write or read? Post an update?
• Consider Wattpad as a reward.
It's important to motivate yourself by saying "I can finally return to Wattpad once I'm done with my exams!" or "I will continue writing after training."• Try doing other stuff.
Throw in an activity (e.g. having fika or coffee sessions with fellow bookworms). Stick to writing offline. Make a consistent schedule for every stuff you do.
You don't need to force yourself to take up interns, clubs or join the military. All you need is discipline, setting proper goals and taking breaks when needed.
