While Wattpad is an international website, let's not forget that the site isn't gonna be quite as popular in other countries like Japan. I thought about how interesting it is for my readers to learn about what other popular writing sites my birthplace has to offer:

Shousetsuka ni narou (Syosetsu)

One of the most popular writing sites in Japan for any bubbling light novel authors out there. The only thing you can do is post, comment and make reviews. Unlike Wattpad, you can't upload any image on your works and earn money there.
I personally hate how cluttered the website looks (as if it's looking at an early 2000's Internet). The English equivalent to Syosetsu is Royal Road Legends.
Fun fact: Some popular works like KonoSuba by Natsume Akatsuki, Mushoku Tensei by Rifujin na Magonote and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime by Fuse later received their own manga and anime adaptations.

Another writing site that has an even cleaner look and makes it convenient to find more diverse books. Its name is a combination of the Japanese words "kaku" (to write) and "yomu" (to read). Believe it or not, the site was made by a publisher called Kadokawa.
Here, you can customize fonts and ask to translate another author's works there.
The only problem is you can't directly contact the author unless they have indicated their own home page. There is also a Kakuyomu appavailable for the iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac.

This Canadian subsidiary of Rakuten (a.k.a. "The Amazon of Japan") offers many many e-books and audiobooks on this platform.
I kind of wished they had a direct app so it's a lot accessible especially to someone like me who's looking to promote my works elsewhere and get royalties (money for all that hardwork).
As you publish here, you can set a promotional price and directly get paid through credit card or PayPal depending on where you live.

Sukima Dokusho

A popular reading app amongst the younger generation. The name "sukima" means "gap." This means you can read a book in-between your busy schedule and add it into your virtual shelf to check out later. It's also got a nice interface though.
