A lot of you are wondering why I didn't start writing around the golden days of Wattpad — back when it used to be super easy getting a thousand reads and followers until the rise of fanfics took over. Here's the tea, folks!

The early 2010's era introduced two film adaptations of Ate Denny's "Ang Diary Ng Panget" and Bianca Bernardino's "She's Dating the Gangster."
I was this troubled kid who felt too embarrassed of myself. Not only does my immature self act salty towards criticism and tend to overshare stuff online, my works weren't the kind you'd show to young teens. In terms of personality, I was very catty and stubborn.
I started writing on old school notebooks during my spare time. They were like poor knockoffs of TV shows I used to watch back then. Sometimes, I would write myself into the story and turn everyday occurrences into something supernatural. You're not allowed to work as a CIA agent in real life while juggling school and family, but instead expected to be friends with everybody like any normal kid.

Was my twelve-year-old self trippin' when I wrote about people at school developing powers under the eclipse while the CIA suddenly chose me to help them investigate the phenomenon? Again, I WAS ONLY TWELVE!

Now that I'm an adult, all those fragments of imagination have led me to write about them. I can say that I'm mature enough to hear different perspectives and communicate my thoughts well. I have improved a lot during these past years and it really shows!
If you ever hear someone say that Wattpad is garbage, suggest they give this platform a chance. It's starting to return to its former self now and finally looks updated. It's a perfect place to find amazing reads during lockdown. The good thing is in 2020, Naver (the company who brought us "Webtoons") has bought Wattpad and can potentially inspire others to write their own stories here.
The 2010's definitely was the best for unique stories, but we can all agree it's time to move on and welcome these changes. I know that I'm already late for the party. As they say, it's better late than never.
